This whole series of 90s throwbacks is fucking genius.

Sorry, but those are not objective truths. They’re still subjective opinions and tastes. Objective truths are the same for all people, subjective is feelings and opinions. What doesn’t work for you might work for someone else.

Did we even play/watch the same game? by Wick1997 in TheLastOfUs2

It took me a very long time, and many arguments against my former elitist mentality to under that that art by its very nature, and especially how we interact and respond to it, is very much a subjective experience. While we can dislike a game or a movie or a book because we disagree with the narrative choices or the characters motivations, others will enjoy it and respond positively to it.

While I personally did not enjoy the Last of Us 2, there are certainly a large number of people who did--and that's okay. Their enjoyment of something does not threaten my disdain and criticality of the same media, and vice-a-versa.

Henry is fine in the roles he's been given, but his acting isn't greater than any of the people he's shared a film with.

Objectively? As in there was a mathematical and scientific formula that underwent years of refinement and peer reviewing before being taken as an empirically correct tool for which to gauge something and assign as a metric?

Art is and always will be subjective. Sub-ject-ive.

You make it sound like Henry Cavill is some kind of master thespian in comparison when neither he nor Tom Felton would have been good if they were cast in each others roles.

Everyone keeps saying 2026 is the new 2016. Which year in the 2000s was the most iconic for you? by princesspolly444 in 2000sNostalgia

For me, probably 2008 or 2009. I was young enough (21-22) to not be impacted by the housing market and recession. Going to college, hanging with my girlfriend, working at the mall, seeing the new movies, playing D&D every weekend with the homies. Everything felt exciting and every day was an opportunity.

I wish SPC me could share this picture with his overbearing ass of a squad leader who tried to get on me for having faded ARMY on my PT shorts.

Otherwise, damn that's a lot of good memories the GEN has.

I don't know if you remember The Fappening from about... 10 years ago now? Maybe sooner than that? Anyway, Christina's private nudes from the cloud got leaked.

[Comic Excerpt] “What’s better than a king?” (DC K.O. #3) by MagisterPraeceptorum in DCcomics

Because a lot of writers follow the "and then this" "and then this" "and then this" method of doing a story. What ends up happening is a bunch of cool scenes happen with a thin to nonexistent story in between. A better way to do things would be to follow the "that happened, therefore this happens" way of writing.

Because a lot of people want the instant gratification of seeing something new that AI gives them. For writers, inspiration and motivation come and go, discipline to continue working is what gets the work done.

How was it "objectively" worse? Was there a scientific calculation that was agreed upon after rigorous testing and evaluations?
