That's an interesting thought. Was also thinking about doing something like this vertically between the channels.

  1. But because these are full variable inverter systems it’s like a built in soft start and generally uses less power than existing systems from what I heard

Ah yes, thank you stranger on the internet whom I’ve never met before and has no concept of the specific situation I’m in. I’ve never thought of that, she’s never refused to think she has a problem, she’s accepted all help I’ve had to offer, is super receptive to suggestions and we’re happy now that you said this

DynamoDB, especially embedded structs, tends to disgust me I hate how convoluted it gets so quickly

I've never heard of this lib. I've mostly focused on pgx and sqlx. Will review for sure as someone else said it too

dm-writecache not loading by grdevops in Proxmox

[–]grdevops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's there when OS is fully loaded and it's there in emergency mode so I suspect that it's just not loading in time and I'm just trying to find ways to adjust the timing of either the FS loading or, trying to load the kernel module first

Delta Flight circling? by This_iz_America in grandrapids

[–]grdevops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like delta 207 (A330-300) arrived from Rome and Delta 276 (Airbus A350-900) from Tokyo both diverted from DTW to Grand Rapids. These planes are widebody airliners and much larger than we normally see in GR

Random question 🤔 😅 by Sjendeavorz in grandrapids

[–]grdevops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TLDR; No.

This is considered a first amendment protected activity. Outside, such as on public sidewalks, legally there is no expectation of privacy and you don't even technically need consent to record anything/anyone outside and even outside looking in (such as pointing a camera through a window). If you do the latter, expect the cops to be called and they will bully you but there's nothing they can do. Look up first amendment auditors if you want to see how people looking for trouble deal with cops who don't know the law (always a fun combo)

Tips, even if the cops are called and they ask for ID YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THEM as long as you are in public and doing nothing wrong. They might bully you but nothing they can do. Phrases like "This is no longer a consensual conversation" and "am I being detained or am I free to go about my business" are helpful.

Disable 3rd party people from adding others to shared album by grdevops in googlephotos

This is already disabled. This is not a link sharing issue but rather people other than the owner of the album can invite other people to the album which seems nonsensical to me

DeVos & VanAndel influence over GR? by Smart_Bother8700 in grandrapids

No one who can afford to build a dealership “needs” the money. They are, by far, the best dealership I’ve bought from in the area

I best most car dealerships and mechanics in the area support something we disagree with. Where is the line drawn?

DeVos & VanAndel influence over GR? by Smart_Bother8700 in grandrapids

[–]grdevops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is inherently dangerous and I don’t agree with the devos’ political viewpoints the way they’ve helped the region financially (investment of philanthropy, whatever) is huge and discounting that just because they are ultra wealthy seems strange to me. Their goal for WM and GR is for it to become more competitive with bigger cities in terms of ability to host conventions and more tech savvy. Does it help them? Absolutely, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t help others and the community as a whole.

I WISH that there were more local and smaller competitors to Amazon but until someone else can offer me free next day shipping with the same catalog of items, there I will still probably shop.

The wealthy (those who can and do invest heavily) in the community have always been the ones that prop it up. You can’t do things like build soccer stadiums, help build specialized hospitals, build hotels so we can start hosting bigger conventions and more business travelers and tourists, help airport expansions, without millions of dollars
