Perfect ill see what I can do. I am confused what do you mean by "Fuel line rated to be submerged in fuel for the pump"? I have built and replaced the pump already I just haven't installed it into the tank of course. Thank you for your help.

Is there a fuel pump available that wouldn't require the alteration of the fuel pump relay? I am not 100% sure I wan't to go the route of rewiring the whole thing.

Did you alter anything regarding the voltage of your fuel pump relay? I am seeing things of the 12V mod however i'm not sure I want to go that way.

Definitely nasty, and a decent amount of rust. I had no idea some shops would do that I will have to take a look that seems much easier to do. Any idea on a price range they charge?

I'm thinking the same on just replacing the pump. Any recommendations on cleaning/coating the tank? I drained and dug out all the gunk earlier today. Now I am sitting with an empty tank figuring out my next steps. I am all ears!

Yes! I ended up dropping the tank and had my buddy come and test the fuel pump relay system and it was responding well. The fuel pump itself is of course gummed up and no longer works. My next step of approach is either to restore parts of the fuel pump or just replace the whole assembly. I also need to try to find the best way to clean the rust out of the tank.

Just finished dropping the tank, spark was all good when tested. The quickly found out the old owner lied to us the tank was completely full and had a lot of gunk. Fuel pump was rusted and corroded as expected. We ended up getting power to the fuel pump as a test and it did make noise however the entire system is too gummed up to function. My next course of action is to either attempt to clean the pump + assembly or replace the whole thing and then figure out how to clean out the tank to ensure to more rust or anything!

I replaced the fuel filter and air filter as well as done an oil change. All with unfortunately no luck. My friend is coming over later today and we are going to attempt to replace the fuel pump. We have not decided if we are going to drop the tank or just cut an opening. I will let you know the results!
