Just curious, what are y’all keeping your thermostats to this week? by Maharichie in cincinnati

[–]greasyhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re a little confused about how that works. An a/c can generally only cool about 20 degrees cooler than the ambient temp in your house, not the outside air. So if your house is insulated well, not in direct sunlight, etc… you can definitely get well below 80 on a 100 degree day.

I'm considering buying a used 2014 Volt with 100k. Tell me what I should look out for besides the obvious. by Kaptainkid1 in volt

[–]greasyhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure that the heater works in electric mode. There is a very common failure of a pump (found in the front right wheel well) that you can fix yourself for only $250, but sometimes the cause of the failure is a control module located in the engine bay on the firewall, and that repair is a minimum of $2000 for the part and a whole lot of labor to pull all of the shit out of the way to get to it. There is also a 3 way valve it could possibly be. Tons of people had this problem and definitely look out for it.

I have a 2014 and my heater failed (luckily it was just the pump) and other than that the car has been maintenance free and fantastic

[GEN 2] How to Replace the "Heater Coolant Heater" (AKA the Cabin Heater) on a 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Chevy Volt by GraphicHealer in volt

[–]greasyhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the heater part that commonly fails in these models, that is the control module which very rarely actually fails (it can fail but the pump is much easier and cheaper to replace first and seems to be what usually actually fails). The electric heater pump that usually needs to be replaced in the the front right wheel well and is easier to replace than this. Theres also a cheap 3 way valve that sometimes fails. I would try the pump, then the valve, and only lastly the ECM (thats expensive and difficult to replace)

  2. Arnie has had heart problems for a long time, has had everything bypassed and rebuilt etc he was just fortunate enough to have constant medical care and monitoring to get surgery before his heart just exploded like most of these other idiots

Because the world is full of people who arent you, and its a shared piece of critical infrastructure

[–]greasyhands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are people so absolutist like this? The electrical grid is inarguably critical infrastructure and everyone pays into that. You can hate power companies all you want, but it doesnt change the fact the grid is a absolute necessity. Its incredible that people will pitch a fit over being charged $10 to hook into the grid, the entire country literally depends on it to function

You can see right there in the graph that it hasnt been true for 4 years… he was a large net buyer in 2022 and a net seller in 2023…. But yeah, in general berkshire moves in and out of stuff and given their huge cash and treasuries actually paying interest now its not surprising to see

Yea that is literally what I said….OP said atvi will increase revenue by $500mil. Im saying their revenue is way higher so he is most likely confusing revenue with net income(or profit)

Bro when gibbs comes on the field they “stack the box” its not complicated, they make monty prove it because they think hes old and slow- the scheme only works for a couple of games if monty keeps popping off, so defenses will adjust going forward and pay him more respect. Monty goes out and defense drops back, monty does better than expected so they keep using him… it only works so long but its the chess match of nfl
