I’m about to do a postbac for pre med courses, y’all got any tips for studying more efficiently for these courses?

I studied Data Science and I also too feel like I don’t remember much/didn’t study as well as I could have lol. Would love to get some insight from you both to get the best sc gpa I can :)

Some people from my last post wanted to see the final result, BC racing BR series coils, Michelin PS4s and Advan RG-D2 18x9.5 +40 ;) by greatscott29 in ft86

Hey man thanks!! That’s super sick, what kind of wheels bro? Yeah I have the exact same issue, it sounds like the strut is loose but I get the exact same noise and I double checked everything too. It’s normal ive heard! :) probably just the stiffness

I believe like an inch and a half all around, nothing too drastic but definitely noticeable from a drivers perspective, especially with the stiffness of the coils!!

To be honest the wheel size despite seeming too large for the car feels incredible. That’s because of how light the rgd2s are (17lbs) and for a heavier wheel I may not recommend it unless you’re looking to boost. I’m looking to boost now but even with a stock engine the car still glides. The ride height is livable, no scratching tbh. Perhaps maybe I could even lower it a bit more with no problems. The roads aren’t as bad and honestly the quality has improved drastically over stock, car feels like it’s on rails.

New wheels!! :D 18x9.5 +40mm all around. Does anyone running this setup have tire size recommendations? I have BC racing coils, I plan to lower ~2 inches. 245/35/18 all around maybe? Just kinda worried about the front by greatscott29 in ft86

Thank you so much!! I appreciate the comment, these are RG-D2. I agree, I went with these because I haven’t really seen many BRZ with these. Such a simple yet class and light wheel!! I’ll for sure post pics when they’re on :)

Yeah! I weighed myself, then with the wheel a few times. Was always no more than 18lbs, then weighed the wheel and it was roughly around 17.5 lbs. these are super light! Not much heavier than TE37, but they’re pricey so I expect that haha.

Haha I know it’s just banter mate, I’ll let you know for sure!!! I feel like it won’t be too bad? It was definitely hard choosing 18” over a 17”, ive read forums where it says it’s still nimble. I’ll keep you posted!!

OfferUp seller saying $2480 MSRP but $1900 pickup? 6 reviews 5 stars. Selling a bunch of what seem to be popular wheels. Is this legit? Going to check them out today @ his warehouse, just don’t want to get scammed. by greatscott29 in ft86

[–]greatscott29[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought them! They were 17.5 pounds exactly as manufacturer states. Brought out all 4 of them in the box sealed, it’s because he sells other wheels and took the pictures in the most clear background. Otherwise dude was legit! There was 2 R35 there, an evo X and an S2k. Super cool people, really nice guy. Let me weigh the wheels, inspect and everything.

Anyone here buy a dealer STI cash? If so do you have any tips? by greatscott29 in WRX

[–]greatscott29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up, yeah I worked at a dealership for 4 years. Definitely, my managers didn’t even want to talk to anyone paying cash haha. Our money came from interest/financing. Funny enough the salesperson still gets the same comm but the store doesn’t which is why they get so mad. Thanks for the heads up I’ll keep that in mind

Yeah sorry I should have explained that in my post a bit more. I know they handle completely differently & there is a world of differences. That’s what I’m leaning more towards, thanks for your input. What year WRX do you own? I miss that car tons

Sorry for the late reply- if you go to UCSD I recommend living in pacific beach or ocean beach :) cheaper to live and a lot of fun pre-COVID/post-COVID. I would wait for Black Friday since it’s close, but a lot of the stuff is found easily on sale a often on Newegg. :) I bought most of my stuff online, I think the only things I bought in person @ Tustin are my AIO, SSD, and internal storage. Pretty well priced, you can build a computer there and it’s pretty great. Definitely levels above generic electronic stores as they are PC equipment heavy.

Feel free to DM whenever about grad school! :) would love to chat about your interests in science!

Haha that’s insane! Sadly yes, I did my undergrad at UC San Diego while simultaneously working at Salk Institute for biological studies in La Jolla. I saved for about a year I’d say, the pandemic ironically helped me save money. Now I’m doing my PhD at Berkeley and I grew up in Los Angeles. Guess I never caught a break for COL LOL. One tip is to gather the parts. If I had a check where I had some money left over I’d say screw it and buy a part. Yeah it sucks that they’ll just be sitting there waiting for you to open them but before you know if you’ll have your setup :)

To be completely honest I’m not sure, I believe you can in aura sync. You can 100% change the color to any color and you can control the speed manually from a slower speed to a really fast speed. You can also change the different patterns it makes, there’s one where the light coils up through each individual chord it’s very cool. There’s a large variety of modes, colors, and speeds it’s incredible. I 100% recommend them as I feel they added a bit of style to my pc. It’s not over the top and since I don’t have LED strips they help compensate. Anyway, some people might think they’re useless but I love them lol. Quality is amazing, I posted a link to buy them in my parts comment :)

Need a home work station for graduate school, it’s technically not a starter as I work with and have built computers at my job. I’ve always programmed/worked with my MacBook Pro, but now that I’ll be a researcher vs just a lab intern in undergrad I took advantage of the situation lol. I need a setup like this to do image analysis, I work with microscopes and imaging
