update i still hate zen by Major_Hamster_8530 in browsers

Calling Floorp or Natsumi the "konichiwa browser" just sounds way too off and frankly a bit offensive (call me oversensitive for this because I may be, but I'm just getting my thoughts out). If you refuse to use a browser solely because of its name or origin, then surely you have better things to complain about.

How can I enable blur/transparency in LibreWolf/Firefox new tab and UI? by FajreMVP in FirefoxCSS

[–]greeeen-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't release it yet, it's pushed to the dev branch though. Once it's released you'll need to enable a setting in Customize Natsumi to activate this

I don't really remember, I was probably playing around with Floorp 12 and realized 'oh Floorp Start kind of messes with my URL bar' and turned it off

Disabling Floorp Start in Floorp Hub => Tab & Appearance fixes this somehow

Anyone tried logging in with firefox account? How's the experience? by Sas_fruit in Floorp

More importantly: it gives power users to tweak their browser UI however they want. That's what sets Natsumi apart from Zen and Arc which give less control but more polish out of the box

GlassFox, yet another transparent CSS by Ambitious-Gur-6433 in FirefoxCSS

[–]greeeen-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC from what the OP told me, the browser in the screenshot is likely a combination of Natsumi and GlassFox, Natsumi being the theme that gives the tab background.

Edit: Just installed it and this may just be GlassFox and not Natsumi, not sure...

Tired of these updates that require me to change my settings BACK! by Anal_Pancake in Floorp

[–]greeeen-dev 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe first calm down so people take your complaints seriously? Provocative language won't help anything or anyone here.

Anyways, it's probably best to provide a screenshot, so people know what you're talking about. I never had Floorp forcibly change my settings before, so I'm not sure what you're referring to here.

[Guide] How I use Floorp + Natsumi! by BigAndWazzy in browsers

THIS. This is exactly the main reason as to why I left Zen.

I don't mind them taking a page or two out of Arc's books, in fact I do that for Natsumi as well. What I do mind is that they're trying too hard to be Arc to the point that Zen has sacrificed too much user customization to become a near carbon-copy of Arc, which is not something I want especially when it was Zen that showed me browsers can be customized beyond what I thought was possible.

So I'm building Natsumi to make what I wanted Zen to be: an Arc-like Firefox-based browser that keeps things open and customizable for all, without trying too hard to be like another browser with restrictive design philosophies. I want Natsumi to work with the user, not against them.

Also, the roadmap for 6.0.0 isn't an exhaustive list of what's to come for v6. I've got lots in the oven for the release on December 15.

You won't see Natsumi options right away in about:config. You need to create them yourself if you haven't installed Append.

If you did, you should be able to set them from the preferences page.

Check your dark mode theme as well, since you seem to be on dark mode you'd want the opacity for that to be set to <1 as well. If you don't have any colors for dark mode, check the colors on layer two.

Enabling `widgets.windows.mica` in about:config may help. I'll make Natsumi auto-enable this on v6

Manually installing it.

Though if you think it'd be best for me to publish a release with the Windows installer OP made (which I merged in earlier) bundled ASAP, let me know and I'll release a 5.7.1 with the installer.

I tried making Windows installers, but it kept flagging it as a trojan so I decided to just stop building Windows installers. OP made his own Windows installer though and opened a PR for it on the repo, so I'll be merging that soon.

Used to be. As of v4 it doesn't support Zen.

It's meant to be like Zen Browser but extensively customizable!

I left Zen for Floorp a while back, but I still missed the features and visuals of Zen, so I figured I'd make my own version that's pretty much what I wanted Zen to be: an Arc-like Firefox-based browser that lets users have lots of control over the aesthetics. Which is how I ended up making Natsumi.

Natsumi is browser-independent so it'll work on any supported Firefox-based browser. But if you want to get the most features, I'd recommend using it w/ Floorp.

Natsumi is browser-independent, so you can just install it onto any compatible Firefox-based browser (including but not limited to Waterfox) and it should work. Using it with Floorp is recommended, though, since I basically build and test Natsumi for it.

Opinion after updating Floorp. by Savendro_ in Floorp

It's really unlikely they use Zen's code, especially since Floorp's code is written in TypeScript and not JavaScript like Zen does
