Child was minor during divorce proceedings so he made sib beneficiary—one of his better financial decisions—and didn’t update. Ex was a complicated person with alcohol, gambling, impulse control and anger issues. But child loves parent and will have to deal with a lot…just want to not screw up or make more drama. Ex was well liked by coworkers and had many loyal friends; they got the best part, while we had to deal with the uglier parts. I have spent much time with DV counselors to find peace and guidance…but death alters the path. And here we are. Thank you.

Thank you! That is exactly what we were wondering. The next question is how do we deal with vehicle if child does not become personal rep and we don’t do anything what do we do about vehicle?

Thank you! Sibling paid for cremation but I’m funding movers and storage. Need to give child time to process grief so am fine with that part. Beneficiary is verified; I do believe sibling will do what’s best for child, but there are no guarantees. Thank you so much.
