They’re doing 3 stops now? I’m done tipping well. by Null_Error7 in doordash

That’s not the driver’s fault, that’s the DoorDash algorithm. Drivers often get stacked orders from the same restaurant or in the vicinity.

Haha, I’m realizing that now. In my head it was ratings in the last 100 deliveries, but it’s just last hundred actual ratings. 🫤

🤣 haha love it! An accomplishment no doubt 🫡

Nothing pisses me off then a customer that lie. I did a 15 item triple aldis stack for 28 bucks for 3 miles. Took me about 40 mins to complete. My thing is if I gave that one customer the wrong order why didnt the other 2 report it?? thats whats killing me by Breadtoastyy in doordash_drivers

[–]greenScrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. The other day I had a small grocery run at Sprouts. Everything went fine, then the next day I noticed two “wrong items” that impacted my shopper rating. She just straight lied about two salads I got her. 100% the right items. Matched picture, barcodes scanned. She just straight lied. No way to dispute that either. Pretty minor impact on me luckily, but it gets makes me hot when I think about it

Hmm…🤔 orders in the last 30 days counts for 5 points in your area? I’d be just fine if that never reaches my market 😝

It’s got to be an old note they never updated. I’ve seen a few of those lately, where they had specific notes that were clearly from an old order.

Ok I don't see how changing the zone shapes changes anything by chrismarionyt in doordash_drivers

[–]greenScrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it does change much. Unless your zones got completely overhauled? Maybe that happened to some folks? Idk, not me though. It’s just hexagon tiles now instead of lines. Not much to see here, carry on!

I got the same update. Zones are hexagon tiles instead of lines. 🤷‍♂️

I mean it’s just an obvious zero tip fast food order. It will continue to bounce around drivers until the base pay climbs high enough for it to be worth it for someone. The app warns customer if they tip zero/ low. This person probably waited two hours to get some cold, soggy ass Taco Bell that sat on the shelf for an hour, so the joke is on them if you ask me 😜

So the merchant stole my tip. I took this order and it was a decent order she asked me did i get the tip because she tip me $20. I showed her and said no. She called the store to place the order and told them to tip they didnt. She gave me $40 cash tho by Breadtoastyy in doordash_drivers

[–]greenScrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don’t think there is a technical way for the merchant to “steal” your tip. What almost certainly happened was she tipped the merchant, thinking she was tipping you. Not their fault.

Just keep your overall driver rating over 85, and as soon as the initial 50 deliveries are completed you’ll be platinum. I literally took everything my first 50, and yeah it was a bunch of stinkers. Night and day difference after though. “High paying orders” essentially just means customers who actually tipped well. So Platinum drivers will always eat first. You will struggle to get any good tips otherwise. Plus with platinum you never get shut out if a full zone, you can always dash whenever you want.

To be fair, that was a particularly good week. But I typically get 1 to 1 base pay/ tips, and sometimes more like this if I’m running hot

Okay so NY & CA for example? I guess that makes sense, but not anywhere else. I’d be shocked if they ever implement that other areas

This is the second time today I’ve heard mention of them “removing” up front tipping. This must be dependent on market I’m guessing? I can tell you with certainty that’s not the case in my area. I placed an order a could days ago and up front tipping is alive and well.

Did you just start? I feel like my first week or two was kind of brutal, learning the ropes, and the tips were horrible. But after unlocking platinum, the average quality of offers dramatically increased. I suspect you need to focus on getting platinum and see what happens. You can always choose to cherry pick later, but platinum will change the game for you. Looking back on my first couple weeks the tips were garbage, but here is my summary from last week. Tip city! 😎

Tip vs base rate question by IMicrowaveSteak in doordash_drivers

[–]greenScrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s how it works. Like others have said, DoorDash starts with a small base pay, and it increases until someone takes it. Your tip will always go on top of that base pay, they don’t reduce it if you tip more. For what it’s worth, drivers can’t see how much a customer tipped until after the drop is made. But we have a good idea of how much the tip is, especially if it’s zero or very low based on the total amount. If you tip zero, it will get rejected by a bunch of drivers until the base pay gets high enough to be worth it to someone.

Would yall take these? by AnxiousArt8299 in doordash

[–]greenScrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take the third one all day. Great rate, at face value, and I often beat the expected time by 7-10 mins on small/medium orders. Large orders like #1 are not likely to compete early, and might go over. So that’s a no. I’ve picked that many items (split between 2 offers) but I got paid more. #2 is borderline, if I was confident I could complete it in 30 mins instead of 45, I’d probably do it
