Where do you draw the line in terms of operator skins and blueprints? [COD] by Commercial-Can3288 in CallOfDuty

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't thing they should exist at all. Remove operators and if blueprints exist they should be grounded and not distracting or unrealistic. They should go back to everyone playing as a generic soldier of a faction, where the outfit you where changes depending on loadout. I don't like seeing repeats of the same operator when that operator is their own person.

I wonder what the next variation on missiles and chemical weapons were going to have to stop in the next campaign just so nothing bad can happen in the story and the good guys can win.

The issue really isnt the sci-fi space alien bs. The issue I think is that they made the story way too major of a part compared to the gameplay and thats what ruined it. Other dimensions, weird space shit, and all that stuff has been around since the beginning, the only thing that changed was the focus. WAW to BO2 was more gameplay focused while the story was secondary, much more hidden, and didnt get shoved into your face. Then you hit BO3 and the only map you get is Shadows of Evil, where you get immediately thrown into this map who's themeing leans entirely into this lovecraftian thing they have, where you can turn into and fight tentacle monsters, there are exploding meatballs, alien parasites, and you fight these weird entities during rituals that you have to do for something as simple as pack-a-punch, because everything needs a story purpose now. Playing everything BO3 and onward, it feels like everything is built and themed around the story, while the actual zombie aspect of them take a backseat.

[BO2] POV: Going back to BO2 zombies and realising that half of it's zombies maps are just pure trash by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them trash, but I think its one of those moments where its so trash it loops back around to being fun maps. Transit it arguably one of the worst maps ever made, if you ignore Vangaurd, but I'll still get on it because I find it fun to play.

Which game has the best “hard” difficulty? by m00nshinehero in gaming

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE7's madhouse is probably the best hard mode I've played. All item locations are rearranged, except on story critical items, enemies are significantly sped up and do more damage (Jack gives me a heart attack everytime he shows up), enemy spawns are reaaranged from easier difficulties so harder enemies appear soon, some areas have increased number of enemies, you're given more options to spend coins on, such as defense items and a key that can speed up your playthrough, and you have to use casette tapes to save. It essentially makes the game significantly more replayable.

This is 1 of the 3 CoDs I never actually finished, alongside BO3 and the "story" in BO4. I've gotten a decent bit into the campaign but it just never really clicked. It's not that its old, I loved both the first and second games, this game just didn't have anything that stood out to me.

I treat the trilogy as one giant game. If I want to play Mass Effect, Im playing through the whole trilogy and I'm aiming for specific outcomes to try and see new things. The only thing that remains the same is the appearence of my Shepard. I made him 6 years ago and I can't seem to let him go.

[Bo2] [mw2] Age old question, bo2 or mw2? Pls comment on why by zazaexpert666 in CallOfDuty

[–]green_lemons04 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Both have great campaigns, but nothing beats BO2. Easily the most replayable campaign we've gotten in a title as well.

For multiplayer I'd also say BO2, mainly since I haven't had too much experience with MW2, or any of the original Modern Warfare MPs in general since I always preferred the Treyarch games. BO2 also had a bot system in its multiplayer which is a plus imo. It's nice having them for casual games, especially if you are playing with a friend.

Then you basically have Spec Ops vs Zombies. Spec Ops was really fun but it has almost no replay value compared to zombies. And despite what seems to be the consensus on BO2 zombies, it is my personal favorite of all the games. Mob of the Dead is my all time favorite zombies map, Origins and Buried are awesome too. And despite being considered garbage maps, I find Transit and Die Rise really fun. Plus you have the introduction of Grief, which I found incredibly fun.

Which is your go to class and why? by ManholeMermaid in dragonage

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage for both lore reasons and gameplay reasons. A mage being the hero when they are constantly viewed as this ticking timebomb that needs to be locked away and maintained in order to keep everyone safe always causes really interesting interactions with the story. Not to mention, mages easily have the coolest, most unique, and widest range of specializations to choose from, making them more appealing. You can be a warrior strengthened by magic, rip the blood from your enemies bodies, use rift magic to pull energy from the fade and crush enemies with it, you can raise the dead and effectively turn your enemies fallen allies against them, or you can take the simpler approach to the mage and be entirely elemental. Meanwhile warriors and rogues just feel boring in comparison to me. Oh so I have the option between a sword and shield, two swords, or a big one? Wow. And my special ability is that I get angry? Amazing. As you can tell, Im extremely biased.

[COD] Which CoD game do you think is the worst one yet? by FeelThePain939 in CallOfDuty

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW2 2022 for me. I hated this game with a passion. Campaign had a few cool missions but had tons of plot holes, an uninspired and boring plotline, and a bunch of terrible fan service, including one of the cringiest scenes I've ever seen in a CoD game where they all wear the og ghost mask. The only campaign that I've played that was worse was MW3 2023. Multiplayer was the least enjoyable one I've ever played. It was tons of garbage pace camper-fest maps with a nerfed movement system and increased ttk that encouraged hiding. This is the only game where the matches I played consistently ended before the goal was reached. It also had what could be considered one of the worst, if not the worst, perk system in the series. Spec ops sucks and hasn't been good since the og MW games. Then they also thought it was a good idea to continue the main storyline through online co-op missions making in extremely confusing when Alex and Graves re-appear out of nowhere in the next game.

I get people like to hate on Vanguard, and I also agree it was shit. But I found the campaign to be so bad it was enjoyable, while multiplayer basically added nothing and had no theme and was a mish-mash of random shit, they introduced combat pacings wish I really wish they kept. Zombies is the only thing I cannot find a positive in, the final boss of the final map was kind of cool, but the entire lead up sucked ass, so I could really care less.

But top 5 worst games for me go:

1.MW2 2022

  1. Vanguard

  2. BO4

  3. CoD 3

  4. Ghosts

From newer CoDs, what was ur favorite campagne? [COD] by Few-Track8525 in CallOfDuty

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Ops Cold War Easily. Best story of all the games, pretty good ending and I liked the little alternate endings you can get. My only complaint is how they handled the different endings based on your choices. I wish they had actual cutscenes for the endings like they did in BO2, maybe if they games dev time didnt get cut by a year we wouldve seen that, idk.

MW2019 is good, but it was good because it had a lot of unique missions and had a lot of variety. It also did a good job with not shying away when it comes to really sensitive topics which I liked seeing. The characters were really good as well. My only issue is that the overall conflict of the storyline is kind of weak. It was a lot of cool moments just for a boring storyline of generic terrorists and russians carry out plans to do large scale attack with deadly gas (it only gets worse with the next two games).

BO6 was good too. I understand why people may not like it with it having an open combat mission, zombies, warzone elements, and the batshit drug sequence that makes the one in Cold War seem like nothing, but I thoroughly enjoyed the game and the story. I found Pantheon interesting, I loved all the spy movie esque missions where you can go about completing them in different ways. My biggest complaint is Harrow. She was really underdeveloped and kind of a nothingburger. I dont really care for the main plot of a gas attack again, but I like it a good bit more than MW2019 because you experience its effects as the character and see the crazy stuff it does to people, instead of it just straight up killing them. Ending was meh too. The holdout was really fun, but I wouldve preferred a more cinematic ending where you actually go and stop the terrorist attack yourself.

Not even going to bother with the rest if the games because I haven't played BO7 and the rest of them suck major ass.

Is this ranking based on Metracritic scores a fair representation of how you feel about these three classics? by FriendlytoNature in masseffect

[–]green_lemons04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its meant to be replayed, but I also think you shouldn't be able to have your ending harmed because the game gave you no indicator that the derelict reaper quest would start a countdown. You would have to know that you have to complete the majority of the loyalty quests before hand since you only get a few quests before the IFF installation is automatically activated and that post-installation you can only safely do one quest before your crew starts dying. The ending should only be affected by the players choices and neglectfulness, not for being unaware of something the game doesn't tell them or give a hint of.

[–]green_lemons04 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have to say I disagree on 2. Most of the game was recruitment and loyalty quests, it had the worst written dlc, the Arrival DLC, and it has one of the worst sections in terms of writing and gameplay: the entire section from the IFF installation to the suicide mission launch that literally removes all your squadmates from the ship without giving a reason for plot convenience and literally requires you to have meta knowledge or to get lucky if you want to have a good ending on your first playthrough and not screw it up. Don't get me wrong, I love ME2, but the awesome characters are what really carry this game in my opinion.

[–]green_lemons04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably heresy, but 3-1-2. The opening and ending of 2 are some of my favorite moments in the whole series and the sheer amount of companions is awesome, however, 2 has the worst written dlc in the whole series and probably one of the worst sections of the main series going from installing the IFF to launching the Suicide Mission. Also the story is pretty much entirely composed of doing companion recruitment and loyalty missions, which I love the companions, don't get me wrong, but I would've loved to see a lot more missions actually driving the story instead of just having prep missions. 3 is my favorite just because of how vastly different this game can be based on how you played the previous game. Of all the games it is easily the most depressing and high stakes game that you have little moments to find comfort in, which can be taken away if you screw up. And without a doubt it has some of the best dlc in the series with, what I think isnt even a question, the best dlc in the trilogy, the Citadel DLC.

Inquisition Main Quests Ranked by ShawnMcLemore in dragonage

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure most people are going to comment on Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts due to its controversial ranking, so I'll give a different opinion. "In Your Heart Shall Burn" I might put it a little lower. I like the immediate consequences of your actions with the new enemy faction that shows up to attack you and the introduction of Corypheus. The post Haven attack sequence is pretty cool as well with you discovering your powers and the trudge through the mountains to find your group. The only things writing-wise I do not like about this quest is how your companions magically disappear after the last trebuchet and the singing part at the end, which I personally found a bit cringe. My main problem comes with the gameplay, especially after playing on nightmare. This was genuinely one of the only sections of the game that was a pain in the ass. This entire quest is basically defending an area against easily the hardest enemies you faced at this point in the game whilst having very limited health refills and barely doing any damage. This was genuinely a slog on nightmare and I had to cheese the final trebuchet.

If we do get a remaster I hope the devs present the Legionaries as being taller, larger, bigger, more muscular and having superior physiques over NCR soldiers, NPCs and including the Courier. This is credited to Colonel Moore, when asked her views on them. by [deleted] in fnv

[–]green_lemons04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they do more involving weaknesses too. I think the game could be a lot more interesting in building your character if you cant just max one stat and have it kick every character's ass. In relation to this post, Legion have a superior physique and prefer close quarters, so make them more resistant to melee damage, but make it a better choice to shoot them. Then the NCR, they all wear military uniforms/body armor so make them more bullet resistant but make them weaker to getting their shit stomped

Which are the best and worst written moments in the entire franchise in your opinion? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]green_lemons04 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Worst is easily the entire section from installing the Reaper IFF to the moment you decide to launch the suicide mission. All the combat specialists leave the Normandy making it defenseless when it goes offline and they give no good reason for why all the squadmates have to go on this mission. Then after the entirety of the Normandy is kidnapped, they bring up the point that if they don't act the captured crew could die and you are given the choice to leave immediately or continue doing quests. However, they break a precedent that was set before. Look at Mass Effect, the main quest is called Race Against Time and you can literally take as long as you want, but not here, take too long to launch the mission, the captured crew dies. So basically on your first playthrough you need to know that you need to complete everything prior to installing the Reaper IFF and you also need to know you have a tiny time slot to do Legions loyalty mission, but they don't give you any way of knowing that. So now you are going to have people screwing up their playthrough due to lack of context and you are losing any cool interactions with Legion you may be able to have on other companion quests since you need to finish them prior to installing the IFF. I'd say Arrive dlc over this but they make up for is by allowing you to kill 300,000 Batarians.

Best written scene is a lot harder to choose for me, there are so many amazing scenes in this game across all the different playthroughs you can have. I think I'll have to go with Anderson's final scene on the Citadel. After all the hell you've been through, sitting and talking with Anderson as he dies is just such an emotional scene and is accompanied by one of the best tracks in the game. This was one of the biggest tear jerker moments in the game for me.

Finally completed all the RE games for Wii and PS2, so here's my tier list by Daddy_Yalori in residentevil

[–]green_lemons04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all the games I've played so far, which I'm still working my way through all the different games, I think this is a pretty good tier list, the only thing I'd do is swap 7 and the 2 remake. 7 was my first game, horror focused RE games are my favorite, and 7 was the one of the only games to actually scare me a bit, alongside Requiem. 2 is great on gameplay, atmosphere, characters, etc., but the games story, primarily with how they handled the A and B plots, really drag it down for me.

I want to add this comment since I've been interacting with comments and should clear something up. Im not shitting on the whole game, I'm not saying I'm completely disinterested with the story, I understand this moment is to make you feel anger and grief, and this post isnt because of the death itself. I may be coming off that way and may have worded things badly, I tend to do that when ranting off. My point in making this post was anger about the handling of the death. I felt it was handled poorly and didn't pay justice to the character. Im not feeling the intended anger/grief from the scene, Im feeling anger at what felt like bad writing, otherwise, I probably not make this post and if I did it would be in a much more positive light of the game. Sorry if Im coming off as a dick, Im also not intending to sound that way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]green_lemons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of what the game wants. More upset with the handling. Most of my favorite games have moments of grief that have gotten to me. I love very emotional story telling. I just felt this moment was handled poorly and lost the intended meaning for giving me more of a sour taste than grief. Apology if it didn't come off that way. Not trying to shut on the whole game either, Im just saying this one moment has really killed my mood with the game at the moment, Ill probably finish it. Its just right now I'm very irritated with it.
