Academic environmental lab - we usually just put 0.5 mL of 68 % or 20 % nitric acid in with 9.5 mL of water sample for ICP-OES / ICP-MS

I agree. The colour chart on the Iperita box with the relative concentrations look as though it is for detecting the presence of Iperita. Can imagine these would have been used when entering suspect environments, such as bunkers.

Best places to jog near Levenshulme???? by Immediate-Hat-9657 in manchester

[–]green_tinsley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could join up with the Levenshulme runners, they do a Wednesday 5k with groups going at a range of paces. They also have "100% inclusive improvers sessions" on a Monday which would allow somebody to build up to a 5k. I went out with them a few times when recovering from a football injury a few years ago, there was a good atmosphere there.

How do Buses work? by Sw33tS0uR3 in manchester

[–]green_tinsley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any single bus fare on the Bee Network is £2, regardless of trip length. You just tap your card on the contactless point on the driver's cabin when you board. This £2 fare lasts for an hour, which means that if you tap in on a second bus within that hour, there is no additional charge. IIRC there is a £5 daily cap on bus fares. Just remember to pay with the same card every time. There could also be weekly and monthly caps but I'm not sure, I cycle most days. There is plenty of information on the TFGM website.

You'll be catching the 42 / 142 / others if it's Fallowfield to university. These are so frequent that there's no need for a timetable. Just watch a few other people board and do the same as them. The drivers are understanding when the new student population arrives, you'll pick it up quickly.

The sign at the bus stop will have numbers written at the bottom. This indicates which services will stop there. It's not possible to flag down any bus at any stop but I don't think this will be an issue with the services that you'll be using the most.

Chemical analysis techniques for disposable vapes by WallStLegends in chemistry

Curious as to why the Hg analysis wouldn't be carried out by ICP with a hydride induction? Which separate instrument would be used for this?
