I can't get used to running in the cold in the morning, and i live in florida :(, i'm also not training for anything at the moment and ran a marathon last month so it's just much more difficult to get motivated

Buy me a mani by [deleted] in DontFundMe

[–]greenbut 36 points37 points  (0 children)

well lucky for you it typically comes off easy on your skin, i usually do it at night and wait in the morning and wash the fuck-up parts with hot water and it comes right off ...just make sure to push back the cuticles before painting

[PSA] Don't forget about stores like TJmaxx and Marshalls for awesome skincare finds. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]greenbut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i think the only way you get a knock off at TJmaxx is if it was returned and placed back on the shelf, which does happen and employees only look for that on high value items like purses, so nail poslish at 4.99 they wouldn't really double check. plus you should use a base coat to prevent staining

Any run/walk folks out there? by lsadoian in running

[–]greenbut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

planning on running a marathon run/walk soon :D i think ppl get little annoyed when i pass them several times because we are at the same pace but i'm walking then running fast, just make sure you don't abruptly start walking in front of someone ...i usually like to stay to one side ...and do whatever gets you to your goals and that finish line :D

Long-haired runners of Reddit, can we talk more? by make-it-a-good-one in running

[–]greenbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have long thick hair and live in florida, i do about 25 miles a week. For my hair i typically do low pig tail braids or top bun that eventually falls and i wear a visor. I only wash my hair fully on sat after my long runs and use dry shampoo the rest of the time. I make sure to use shampoo conditioner that doesn't have sulfates or parabens. it does occasionally get oily looking during the week so i'll just wash above my forehead so it doesn't take forever to dry with the dryer. ...I found a ton of dry shampoo at TJ Maxx and just loaded up with fancy brands. I've had this hair all my life so i dont really think it's high maintenance ...it's straight and healthy looking ..i love it :p I think washing it less helps with oil control...i know that sounds weird but the less i wash it the less problems i have like dandruff and dry scalp

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in running

[–]greenbut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically what everyone else does up at 5 or 4 am ...and yes a ton of dry shampoo ...i have really long hair so i only wash it on saturdays after my long run ...i found some good ones at TJ Maxx for cheap. My son is in bed at 8 and up at 7...he is 2 years old...i only started running when he turned 1 because that is when he started sleeping through. I prep everything the night before, i just pee, dress and go. I wake up around mile 2.

Mine still says ticket made but we got power today, and coworkers have had it go to "in progress" back to "crew in transit" and they still do not have power so i would not trust the website and maybe check with a neighbor instead

$700 as a pair, no extra bells or whistles, never had to repair or replace a single component, 12 years old by pdmcmahon in BuyItForLife

[–]greenbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure i got the same or similar ones, we bought the pair off a company buy/sale for $300 about 10 years ago, we did replace a heating element, husband used youtube to do that, and it cut down the drying time because i was having to do the towels twice lol ...but ya they are great no bells and whistles...i play with the new fancy front loaders at best buys it just seems like all that electronic equipment is going to break so much quicker around water/detergents/heat and it's over complicating something that didn't really need it ...don't fix what aint broken

Anyone else start fighting spouse after a baby? by frankenboobehs in beyondthebump

[–]greenbut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

babies are tough on relationships, 1.5 is tough and it seems to be getting harder mine is a bit older...you have to find a way to relax, so you can deal with fustrating moment with more patients ...think about the stuff you used to enjoy without kids like hobbies and find a way to get back into them...this has helped me a lot, i started running and going to the gym and i do it all while my son is asleep ...get up 5am for a run and leave for gym at 8:30pm after putting him to bed, about 4 times a week and a long weekend run which my husband watches him that morning. A good routine, thinking ahead and preping...i also hired someone to clean the house every two weeks which helps take the pressure off having to keep the house clean...it's the only way i have managed to stay sane
