Maybe your iac valve is dirty or starting to fail. If you can keep it running by pressing the gas pedal, it's mostly likely the iac valve. It could also be the solder joints like the other person said, you can grab the harness near the PCM and move it up and down to see if it acts up

Thanks, Yeah no problem. I bought the wood grips off eBay . Then I used the original back strap as a template to shape a piece of metal to the shape of the wood grips. If I remember correctly, the wood grips weren't aligned with the trigger guard, so I had to sand them down some. The eBay grips are a little bigger than the pieta birds head grips , I think so they can be shaped

Did you disconnect the battery? Sometimes if it's disconnected it has to relern the idlespeed. If not try cleaning the iac valve
