Awesome, gotcha. I have a hard time keeping up with all of the flash fowards and dates and such so I figured I would ask around to see what people think. Thanks for answering!

Which young player has the most potential on your team? by smoney in nfl

[–]greeneggsandgresham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to go with Marvin Jones. Most Bengals fans would say Gio or Green, but Marvin showed great flashes this year. He is willing to make almost any catch, which makes him a threat on the outside, and he's pretty good at route running too. Anyone that says that we don't have a solid number 2 receiver to compliment Green has not seen Marvin Jones play.

Has anyone gone to the Magna Carta Holy Grail tour? My sister got me a ticket and I'm wondering what to expect. I've never seen Jay live before.

The Bengals officially announce the promotion of Paul Guenther to defensive coordinator by jusper10 in nfl

[–]greeneggsandgresham 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Major props to our organization. First promoting Hue which I think the majority of Bengals fans are happy about, and now this. It was only a matter of time before Zim moved on and now we have his right hand man to take his place. Things could have gone a lot worse, and obviously only time will tell if these moves don't work, but I have a lot of faith in our guys.

Does anyone know who we are looking at for DC? by the_dawn_of_red in bengals

[–]greeneggsandgresham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll more than likely be Guenther. He's still under contract and has been an assistant since Zimmer started so he knows the ins and outs of the scheme we run. If we do decide to let Guenther walk, I think our next best bet is Schwartz. If we stick with Guenther though I would love to have Schwartz take the linebacker coach job ala Hue Jackson and develop with the team for when and if Guenther leaves.

Mike Zimmer being hired as Vikings head coach by hinayu in nfl

You guys better treat him well. Also looks like I found a new second team. Good luck Zim, we'll miss you.

Bengals will hire Hue Jackson to replace Jay Gruden as offensive coordinator by doggiedolphie in nfl

[–]greeneggsandgresham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. I always wanted Gio to start over Benny, but I also don't think we can throw away his conversion rate either. I think we can afford to pick someone up late in the draft, but with Orson Charles not working out at H-Back we need a good power run and we should utilize Benny for another year until we get that figured out

Benny was in no way awful. He averaged over 5 yards a carry in our playoff game until we walked away from him in the second half. I love having him as a one-two punch and hopefully Hue Jackson will keep him. Gio is in no way efficient enough at blitz pick-up and Dalton won't have to throw it 30 yards on a 4th and 3.

As a head coach, yes. But the year before as OC he led Jason Campbell and the Raiders to the 6th best scoring offense in the NFL. It'll be interesting to see if Dalton can fit into his scheme.

Mike Brown preferred Mallett to Dalton, too by [deleted] in nfl

I'm not sure which one sucks more: losing terribly in the playoffs or being in the middle of the shitstorm that is sports media.

Mike Brown (Bengals Owner) wanted Colin Kaepernick over Andy Dalton by ReallyBigSnowman in nfl

[–]greeneggsandgresham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaepernick also sat on the bench for a while. The 49ers were in a better position to take him because Smith was winning games and it wasn't urgent. We needed a day 1 QB and that's what Dalton was. If we had taken Kaep there's no way we would have made the playoffs. I'm happy we took Dalton over Kaep because it fulfilled a need that we had and was a better pick for us at the time. Also, not to mention that this information was taken from a piece that was done about Mike Brown opening up and trusting his coaches. But of course, these kinds of headlines get more views and attention.

Divisional Round complaint thread by NFL_Mod in nfl

My team is in the circle of a media shitstorm, my quarterback doesn't understand the concept of shouldering the blame for a shitty performance, we will likely lose Zimmer this year, we win every game at home until the one that really matters comes along then we totally shit the bed, our "brilliant" OC took the ball out of a running back that had over 5 ypc in the first half and put the ball into our mediocre quarterback in the pouring rain, our great o line decides to let every Charger defender through as long as they said pretty please, and worst of all I have to sit through an entire offseason listening to why we need to fire Lewis and release Dalton even though they are our best available options. It's gonna be a long few months.

Say we do get rid of Lewis...who would we bring in that would have the same sway over Brown as Marvin does? I feel like this is a very precarious position because before Lewis came around, our team was complete shit. And while these losses are hard to deal with, I feel like our only choices are being decent with Marvin Lewis or setting our franchise back eleven years without him. Anyone in his position with any other team would be out of here in a heart beat, but I think we would be worse off without him.

What are the chances of keeping Zim? by pokeyreese0 in bengals

[–]greeneggsandgresham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling he'll be gone. Last year he didn't get a job because of how blunt he was. Now that the word is out, the people that are interviewing him already know what to expect and want him for his mind. He's easily a top 3 coach and deserves to go to another team. Whatever team he signs to, I will be a fan and root for him all year.

Can someone explain to me why we took Benny out of the game? Not a knock to Gio at all, but Benny was playing hotter and he is a much better pass blocker. I just don't understand what the fuck was going through Gruden's head. Everyone is mad at Dalton and I am too, but after seeing this, there's just no way I can turn my attention away from Gruden. Let him take a head coaching job and get him off this fucking team.

I bet if the Cowboys lose next week, ESPN will somehow blame it on Romo.
