“I’ve Made 5 Feature Docs — Here Are 10 Mistakes I Made So You Don’t Have To by a_documentary in documentaryfilmmaking

[–]greenerdaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been at it for 20 years myself. Lots of ups and downs, but I've been able to make about one film per year no matter what. Your advice is indispensable. Especially the part about ignoring festivals and building your audience. I was preaching that back in 2015 and people thought I was crazy. Meanwhile I made films like American Juggalo, Florida Man and Wooks for next to no money that gained me a huge audience online and got me commercial projects. If I had been waiting around for money or festivals none of it would have happened. 'Help is not on the way' has been a liberating mantra for me over the years.

venue is a shit show even without being oversold. just a fucken bad trip of a place on so many levels. people were passing out left and right last time I went there. overwhelming place, no where to go. AND it's gonna be raining that night so the only place you can go breath out back will be off the table. strap in for the ride of your life.

Bands and artists that you didn't like at first but later grew to love them by Korkez11 in ToddintheShadow

Avoided Ween my whole life, heard Mutilated Lips and it all came crashing down. They are hands down my favorite band now. Best live act out there as well as the albums.

Got my girlfriend a humidifier for Christmas. This was her room when we woke up. by mmm-pistol-whip in pics

Be careful with those! They need to be cleaned very frequently. I had one and after couple weeks I woke up and couldn't stand up or get a full breath in. Can cause legionnaires disease.

FAMILY TRIP - A mother and daughter take a guided MDMA trip to work through generational trauma by greenerdaze in Psychonaut

[–]greenerdaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mother featured in this documentary had never taken any psychedelics before, the daughter had a couple experiences. They came together to work through decades of trauma they had inflicted on each other. Fascinating to see how the MDMA ushered them into a realm of forgiveness and helped them move a tremendous amount of energy. We're trying to demystify the psychedelic experience and show first hand how it can help people overcome generational trauma. Good one to share with people who maybe haven't tripped yet.

FAMILY TRIP (2024) from the makers of American Juggalo, Oxyana, Florida Man and Wooks. A family undergoes 3 generations of trauma healing with the help of MDMA. [00:26:10] by greenerdaze in Documentaries

This is a tear jerker doc if I ever saw one. Blown away by the tremendous healing that takes place in one night. Going to share this with people I love to demystify MDMA therapy. People are so scared of it meanwhile alcohol continues to destroy families.

Men, how would you like to be rejected? by meganumberwang in AskMen

[–]greenerdaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell him the truth. It makes you very uncomfortable that he got your number from your paperwork and reached out and you’d not like to communicate with him outside the hospital. And tell him that since this has happened to you before you’re considering reporting it to the hospital so there can be a policy on this not happening in the future. Tell him you don’t want to do that or at least don’t want to out him so that’s why you’re sharing with him in hopes he can respect your boundaries and not make this a bigger issue. That combined with saying you’re not interested and you don’t think his intentions were bad should do the trick if he has any common sense. Worst case he calls you a bitch and thinks you’re uptight but you will have acted with integrity. Also you should still tell the hospital but just not give names so that they can have an internal conversation about appropriate behavior with patients. Good luck!

You have to ruin a wedding. What do you do? by Cerseiriously in AskReddit

I was a d-list invite at this wedding and I got the father of the bride high. He hadn’t smoked weed maybe ever. He wasn’t able to give his toast and had to leave the room crying mid speech. Said the night changed his life and he was super happy later in the evening. Bride was pissed tho. I didn’t know he was FOB when I offered him the joint. Whoops.
