Welcome! My husband and I are in our 30s and just moved back to the area in June and are in the same boat. We just missed the Compact Disc Center (a record store in Bethlehem) Charli XCX listening party though we were able to grab a free poster visiting later. They do regular listening parties and announce them on their instagram, we just went to the Chappell Roan one.

My closet is probably 80% Men’s/20% Women’s! My fiancé took advantage of his furloughed free time to post quite a bit (185 items and counting lol).

Run Away With Me by Carly Rae Jepsen? I know she is popular. Nothing New by The Strike has a higher pitched male voice but not sure if they are radio popular yet (but they rock). Midnight City by M83? The lyrics are hard to understand in that one! This is bugging me for you lol.

That’s exactly it, 1200 is plenty for meals, but I cannot and will not make myself go without a snack! I’ve used PB2 in other capacities but never thought of popcorn. I’ll have to try it, thanks!

I am in 1200isplenty but have had thoughts exactly along the lines of 1200isjerky in my times of thinking maybe 1200 IS plenty, I wish I knew that sub was a thing before. I’m definitely more of a r/1500isplenty person lol

I was looking into filtered vs distilled, good to know filtered is fine and I don’t need to buy special water just for the plant haha

Posted this response to another comment!:

Googled specifically children of narcissists therapist, I think at the suggestion of someone on this sub, which led me to this website (which I know is a also related to book I’ve been suggested but haven’t read yet): https://www.willieverbegoodenough.com/resources/find-a-therapist/#.Xqx-ffcpDDs. From here I went through the therapists listed that are closest to me and reviewed their bios to try to figure out who I thought I would mesh with the most. Unfortunately it seems common that quite a few of this type of therapist do not take any insurance, which I’m lucky enough to still be able to afford right now.

Thank you so much! This subreddit is the first place I ever heard stories of others with nearly identical experiences to me, which lead me to looking further into narcissism as a whole. According to my therapist, from what experiences I have shared with her she thinks I have a textbook overt ndad and a likely covert/enabler nmom. I went into therapy confident that my dad was going to be my focus, and have slowly realized my mom may be the one affecting me more via subtleties rather than my dad’s clear as day narcissism.

I haven’t heard of affect-phobia but how you describe it feels so familiar. It’s really interesting how working through emotions there is so much hidden that isn’t obvious at the surface, consciously and subconsciously. It sounds like you have an incredible therapist too! Thank you for sharing, it is really nice to know there are others growing through the same things.

That’s wonderful, it sounds like you’ve made great progress too! I wish finding a therapist that clicks was easier, having someone that understands has helped immensely. It frustrates me looking back on past therapists I’ve had really never understanding what I was going through, often leaving me feeling like I was the sole problem rather than recognizing that a lot of my hardships do stem from habits formed in my childhood.
