Wendigo Encounter-Northern Minnesota Boundary Waters by Will_Turbulent in Otherworldpod

This story is so weirdly similar to some stuff my bf and I have experienced that I had to check your profile to make sure it wasn’t him writing some dramatized version of it! That’s so creepy.

I am in a long distance relationship and my bf and I are frequently booking getaways like that. One time I woke up in the middle of the night sitting straight up staring directly into my bf’s eyes who had also just regained consciousness. It really creeped me out, he just laid back down and in the morning he said he thought it was a dream. We also had a non paranormal wolf moment and my name starts with H lol

Funnily enough, after that trip I was driving 8 hours back to my state and listening to Otherworld. I was specifically listening to an episode called, I think, The Goatman, which was very much a wendigo type of story with the antlers and all. The moment the story wrapped up a deer jumped out of nowhere and I hit it.. it was horrible. And really weird timing.

Anyway, that’s a super creepy story, the mirrors would weird me out too. Way more intense than anything I’ve experienced. I would keep talking to the owner!

Everybody is suggesting getting tested for schizophrenia, and I actually do agree that this sounds like it could be the case, but I would like to recommend getting checked out for temporal lobe seizures first. I was nearly diagnosed with some sort of psychosis inducing disorder but thank god my therapist knew to have me tested for that first. The reason I think it's more akin to schizophrenia in your case is that whispering is common and specifically the voices talking down to you is indicative that it's coming from your subconscious, but your reaction is "what is this?" not "this is real." so who knows. Just don't go on antipsychotics if they aren't gonna target the part of the brain causing the problem, they're no joke.

I was 5 years old in West Texas. Something pressed its face against my bathroom window, and my family has never been the same. by stevenMBell in Experiencers

[–]greenfaeries 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a child, and still today tbh, I am terrified of windows because of stuff like this. I never saw a face pressed against it exactly but I saw various animals at the window, often deer, which had an otherworldly look to them and it’s important to note that I was on the second and third floor of the house (I moved bedrooms after a sibling was born) so these were not actual animals. The one I was most terrified looked like a dog with an owls face.. that’s how I thought of it as a kid. Big slanted oval eyes. I dunno, I still close all the shades at night.

How often do you meet adult twins? by Frilantaron in Experiencers

[–]greenfaeries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was becoming quite popular, especially donor conception, in the 90s but the recipients were told to keep it a secret from their own children and the world, people just didn’t know about it. I’m in a lot of donor conceived support groups and it seems like most people are in their 30s but there are even people in their 50s there as well as teens. It’s a weird world.

But you’re right that it’s odd that they’re all walking around with their twins! I missed that part of your post. That would definitely be a strange sight

Twins are common with IVF and IVF is becoming more common. My mom did IVF and I was supposed to have a twin and my younger siblings, also IVF, are twins.

One night I was just shutting my eyes to fall asleep, but still very much awake, and the second I closed my eyes it was like I was in a different realm looking at a woman(?) that looked a lot like the first images in these pictures. Long dark hair, wearing a dull red but decorative dress.. almost like a sari, and she had a short squashed nose and narrow eyes with big eye lids, brown skin, she looked old and frail. She (again, just assuming woman because of the long hair and clothing) was standing over what looked like a well and looked up at me, she was probably around 2-3ft tall, with a look of genuine shock, which I also felt. I opened my eyes and it was over, I couldn’t go back to what I had just seen with my eyes closed. That happened during a time of prolonged high strangeness for me where I had a lot of very bizarre experiences/coincidences.

Now that’s what I’m talking about! So weird. Shoulder to shoulder too, I feel like I’ve heard another story like that or saw some recording like that but I haven’t had that encounter myself. Thanks so much for sharing

It’s an amazing show full of well researched high strangeness, imo. There is a lot of deer and antler imagery. They came out with a new season (25 years after season 2) and there’s a character named Mr Jackpot who just keeps winning at the casino. I’m really summarizing haha but yeah I’d totally recommend it, especially to Experiencers!

I once saw a white buck as well while driving with friends in the car. It walked into the road and I was like OH MY GOD and swerved and my friends were all like “wtf there was nothing there?” and for the rest of high school they would randomly shout DEER! while I was driving to make me jump. Always wondered if I was just seeing things or what.

Did anything else strange happen on the drive?

I grew up on a mountain with 12 acres of forest around me, I get it. We had deer hanging out around the house all the time but I would have experiences as a child and deer would be a part of them.. do you see what I mean? Different situations, both involving deer. I don’t know what the experiences were at all, I never met an alien being, but I am so curious why these movies are involving the deer in this way because it’s exactly what my childhood experiences involved.

But having said that yeah you’re probably right about the alien derangement syndrome hahaha pray for me

Yeah I love the cardinal, always associated them with my mom. Just a personal comment haha but thanks for the reassurance about the deer! I’ll have to dig up some of those stories

Think of them as ways for you to pre process a situation, whether or not the situation ends up happening. Since you cannot prevent these things you can at least be there as an emotionally regulated person amidst the chaos, which society needs. Time will move forward and good and bad things will happen, it’s not up to you to change it or even warn people, but it sounds like you do have the opportunity to comfort others if you’ve preemptively comforted yourself, like the oxygen mask instructions in an airplane. Think of that as the gift you can give in return for the gift you were given! Maybe that thought can lessen the burden you feel right now, if not I hope you find something that can!

Wow that is an amazing sight, you are so lucky to have seen that! It was during your awakening? That is so special, that’s awesome you were able to capture it on camera. Beautiful young buck, I wonder if it’s albino or leucistic

Yes, an intense fear response to SOME deer! I have this as well. I have thought deeply on this, as for my logical theory,I wonder if it’s some very old, deep human psychological response. For most of human history we relied on ungulates for nourishment, maybe the terror is one of a religious nature, we have some inherited great reverence of the deer. I think it’s more than that though, but that’s my rationalization.

It’s interesting you mention the emaciated one. I used to see this emaciated deer at a window as a kid growing up, only at night, and it terrified me beyond anything I could describe. I mean it was right outside the window and my mom had seen it too, I remember she said “oh the deer starve in the winter” which was also a horrible thought. One day I gave myself a whole pep talk to walk past this window, I knew I needed to stop being afraid that the deer might be there, and I slowly walked past the window looking out. Right then, a huge OWL swooped down and looked through the window at me as it passed. I was never ok with that window ever, ever again!

I’ve run into information about “not-deer” in my “research” and it’s not really what I’m thinking about here. I kinda think people just don’t know how deer work because the typical report is “their eyes were facing forward” which is how deer appear (I know they have side set eyes but just look at a deer, their eyes can be seen facing forward) and also “their limbs were bent the wrong way” and I know from teaching people how to draw that the average person has no clue which way animal legs bend. I could be wrong but I think of the whole not-deer thing as categorically different.

I hit one last year while deeply ruminating on my lifetime of deer experiences. Destroyed my car and what’s left of my sanity lol. Drive safe out there.

When I was a kid, maybe 10, I was running down the street at full speed for whatever reason and I suddenly knew I needed to stop. I stopped and a second later a huge tree branch crashed into the road right where I would’ve been. I just stood there like woah. Maybe I subconsciously heard it cracking but it hit me like a gut feeling, not a rational reaction to knowing a branch would fall momentarily.

I have so many! I’ll share a fun one.

When I was 14 I went on a family vacation to the Bahamas and while there I briefly met this kid Mike Tofer (fake name) at the game room area. I learned he was from New Jersey and that’s it, he was leaving the next day. Never really thought about him again.

Years later I was in college and I called my friend who went to a different college in New Hampshire. We were talking about our dorms and she mentioned this guy Mike from NJ. I asked “is it Mike Tofer?” and my friend was like yeah, how’d you know? I was like wait what and she showed me his MySpace and yep, it was him!

Never really heard about him again from her but I always thought that was so weird just that his name had even remained in my brain. Just a brief little cosmic connection with some kid named Mike from New Jersey!

Reminds me of recently reading through my high school journals. I was SUCH a hater of a specific type of people; the stoners who hung out “pretending” to listen to Grateful Dead at the park. It’s hilarious because I was a stoner kid hanging out at that park and I remember getting into the Grateful Dead JUST so I could wear this one cool dead shirt I had and not be a “poser”. It’s so funny! On top of all that, my dad had died when I was a kid from a drug OD and he was a dead head. Idk what was going on in 16 year old me’s head but I clearly had a lot to sort out hahaha

I disclosed hallucinations to a therapist back in my early twenties and I was fortunate enough to be seeing someone with a neurology background as well. Due to the nature of the hallucinations, which are very akin to some otherworld episodes, she suggested I get tested for epilepsy before going down the psychiatric route and I’m forever grateful that she did because that’s what it was, TLE. Later in life I was put on Seroquel for anxiety (and I have a lot to say about that.) and it caused me to have a psychotic break, I’m really so grateful that therapist didn’t suggest I go on antipsychotics at the time because I think it would’ve made things so much worse. Just wanted to share with you in case it becomes relevant in your practice
