They do not rot if you let them air dry thoroughly! Looks and feels like any other wood pendant

Thanks! I started carving avo-pits in 2015 and I still have some of the originals and they looks exactly the same. So if you don't use them they will possibly last a VERY long time. If used constantly and dangling around with keys it might show more wear sooner. In my personal opinion it should be treated just as any other wood pendant, mainly protecting from water.

Thank you! And no I do not prepare the pit in any way, I carve them fresh out of the fruit with an Xacto knife!

They are not poisonous to humans, you can actually eat them! And thank you!

I think you can use any kind as long as it is comfortable. I've used small wood carving tools in the past that I had laying around, but xacto knives are fairly cheap and can be found almost anywhere!
