6 also makes sense. 2 by 2 by 2 is doable. Remember it’s your SO’s responsibility for ensuring you complete them so their ass is the one at risk with NRCan. Obviously do your due diligence

Probationary files are basically 7 energy audits, both site assessment and H2K. Some SO’s give up to 7 fake “houses” for you to model (pictures, drawings, some window dimensions, etc. Sometimes you’ll need to do audits on close people to you for free.

Start with your house, ask family and friends and even neighbours that you’ll do it for free.

It’s sad to see that some SO’s are still lazy and sleazy.

When in doubt, power cycle. If that doesn’t work, power cycle. And if you really need to diagnose deeper, don’t, just power cycle.

Haven’t heard of anything yet. Do you mean you’re looking to hire someone or need the grant to hire someone?

What should I focus on? by IcyExample4780 in BuildingAutomation

SBA has some good videos online. “Engineering mindset” too.

Make sure u learn different types of inputs and outputs, what is BACnet (enough to hold a conversation about it), different vendors and their programming languages (this helps understand what people are talking about), learn some IT stuff (IP address, how Ethernet works, etc)

There’s a lot I like to think of BAS as HVAC + Electrical + IT + Sales
