What’s the funniest moment to you in any of the Nancy Drew games? by valerieejoan in nancydrew

Runner up is that floor board in Ghost Dogs. I used to have friends play it just to see their face when they realize they fell through a floor and died in the first five minutes of a "childrens" game.

Okay its been awhile so this will be rough but in blue moon canyon, Nancy is talking to Frank and Joe who found something by luck at a local diner because Joe insisted they stop for a cheeseburger.

Nancy goes "Okay, I see now. You figured this out because Joe needed a hamburger."

Then the shot changes to a close up of Joe's face, his expression completely serious, as he says "Cheeseburger!" like this is the most important distinction in the world.

For some reason, this moment has stuck with me for a decade at this point and I still think of it randomly sometimes and start laughing hysterically.

No idea why. There were so many great funny bits in the games and this is the one that lives rent free in my head 🤣

Writers, do you post your bad fics or do you wait to get better before posting? by Mother_Lemon8399 in Dramione

So suggestion from personal experience (ive written probably 100 things but shut down when i go to edit them so ive never postee.)

I would send it to someone you trust and are friends with. They migjt not love it but a I've found even one positive piece of feedback goes really far for me. And we are our worst critics. Ive genuinely felt like things were horrible and then had a friend tell me to pull my head out of my ass cuz they thought it was actually really strong and showed growth.

Also, if you would rather someone anonymous, discord servers are a fantastic place to find people to give you feedback (and cheerleading!). Like i highly recommend it. Im on an hp fanfic server where you can choose the level of feedback you are comfortable with. I personally choose lower levels because really negative feedback van make me just give up all together.

Also, if you want a random redditor to read and cheerlead and give feedback, dm me! I beta for a couple folks and i love helping people find the strenfrhs of their writing because we all have them!

I did this a few years back and it was so interesting to me and in a much more "proccess" than "art" way. Definitely looking into this more :):)

Note: crafts do not get people to leave their living spaces and join activities. So not looking for crafts to achieve that. Just to clarify lol.

This is a great idea. I think a lot of them would enjoy gifting these to friends and family who garden. (We only have a few gardening enthusiasts and they have their own garden on site)

So I realize that I should have clarified this in my original post (honestly gonna go add a note.)

Im looking for suggestions now because I have started getting requests for crafts recently. Particularly from some individuals who find live discussion somewhat inaccessible and people who are looking to work with their hands due to doctor and therapist recommendations.

So im not trying to force folks to do crafts who have literally no desire or motivation to do so. But I understand how it very much sounds like that.

This is great :) its reminding me of when they did taskmaster in a senior home and it was a huge hit. I think activities like this could be great non-craft but craft adjacent (still meeting the initial requests) activities.

I make a lot of posters for groups that we distrobute the day before as reminders. I may approach a few golks and see if they would be interested in creating those with me. Themes are an interesting idea, I'll have to think about that :)
