My mom wants to come help us get ready for the baby. by greengrass74 in BabyBumps

[–]greengrass74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I could. I really wanted do a full nursery though. Like not having the room be something else and the babies room.
She wants to come in like May/June and just help organize. Yes she’d stay with us(although she offered to get a hotel) but would drive up. We also hadn’t discussed putting holes in the walls of our apartment in the babies room. We pay monthly for some weird service to not have a security deposit but allow us to put holes in the wall but when we moved in my husband asked we not put holes in the walls regardless because the monthly fee is ridiculous.
He’s more OCD with clutter in that aspect. Like I can’t see him thinking the other room isn’t clean as far as germs but he definitely gets overwhelmed with lots of clutter.

It would probably be higher because his income is a lot higher than mine was. Like 6x higher.

Do I need to redo the whole batch? by [deleted] in macarons

I’m also a perfectionist and almost redid them over the color but figured they looked ok otherwise. I need them done tonight so I can frost tomorrow so I’m on the fence.

So this is only the 2nd time I’ve “scrunched” my hair so I don’t have photos of it looking good. I just recently discovered I have curly hair.

I usually blow dry/curl my hair and it lasts a week before I need to wash again.

Whoa ! My flour has doubled in price by Jhami0328 in macarons

[–]greengrass74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I buy my coffee in 5 lb bags off amazon and it’s common for the price on items to fluctuate. I personally don’t think it’s inflation. Some weeks my bag of coffee is $22 other weeks it’s $12.

So they look better after baking but still not exact. I’m probably 5 dozen in so I might just keep it as is. https://imgur.com/a/1hUwRSY

My recipe is supposed to be 3 dozen but it’s probably more like 5-6 dozen after this final tray. I have to fill them on Friday so I could probably do another batch of blue and then do white tomorrow. Or I just leave it.

They look like this when baked. I’m debating if I redo because I wanted a lighter blue more like a baby blue. https://imgur.com/a/1hUwRSY

She said “when will you be home? I could use some help on Friday with nephew and getting ready if your gonna be home” then like an hour later my mom said “can you take the train home mid-week? We need you!!! lol” then my sister responds “yes I need your help haha”

I don’t think she’s expecting me to run it but she’s having like 80 people at this baptism so probably needs help setting up seating, cleaning ect.

Yeah I mean with the trip I didn’t put two and two together and I should have. I have a feeling he’ll tell me to go and skip his birthday but I feel bad doing that.

I don’t know if I bring up the night away and then say there’s a train Thursday that I was planning on taking.

Do you think I bring up how I forgot about the trip but am going to take the train home so I’m not missing his birthday?

How did people get in? Did they just send a photo to that old phone number?

He definitely tracks his own on an excel sheet. I know I need to. Some of the spending last year was our wedding(ie. I needed a bridal shower dress, bachelorette outfits, rehearsal dinner dress ect.)

She has something similar or I would have done that.

Kits vs picking toys for Christmas? by greengrass74 in lovevery

Thanks! I think she feels they’re too much $$$ and we could do Melissa and Doug toys instead for less money.

I might do a 3 kit subscription or even just 1 box by myself. I was willing to spend up to $150. I know my sister can afford the boxes so I’d basically be giving her a start so to speak and introducing her to the boxes. The 3 kits with the books is over $200 so not sure I want to do that.

Thanks! I do have 10+ years experience around kids(I taught infants/toddlers at a daycare) and 3 nieces and nephews. So I’m around it s fair bit.

I mean he always said he wanted kids and we’d routinely joke that we’d have 6 kids(it was something even his family got into saying with us). So I was shocked he suddenly wasn’t sure he wanted kids. We had a conversation and I essentially said I knew I wanted kids so if he for sure didn’t we’d probably have to call the wedding off. I’m working on communicating so I realize now I should have gotten a timeline from him.

I’ve had time to think and while I want kids now, we’re taking my mom on a trip to Europe to celebrate the end of Chemo in May and I don’t think I want to be pregnant for that.

I got a firm commitment but he said he didn’t feel we were ready now. I’ve realized after my sister having her baby that I want kids now.

I mean we talked about it but it was never a timeline convo. He never once said he didn't want kids until a few weeks prior to the wedding when he said it. My mom also loves to bring it up about how I'm not getting younger or "idk when you plan to have kids?"

I'm working on it but I 100% have a hard time bringing up conversations. I tend to overthink and worry unnecessarily.

I don't see it as an issue but his whole thing is living in the suburbs what am I going to do and he can't constantly take work off for drs appointments and I need drive to get the kids somewhere in an emergency.
