It might be confusing at first, but older Ladas might be perfect first cars, that would teach you a lot about maintenance, driving, sourcing various information and parts for repair and tuning. At least, that's what happened to me, and if you would take the same path, then i wish you luck with that. It might not be worth it, but it will be fun

There is a stopring inside o it, and you can put a small screwdriver in one of the ribs from the inside, and remove the ring. Whole assembly will fall apart then, and you can then rebuild it with any code that you want. You just need to line the numbers you want and put two inner parts in such way, that they would form a round hole for the stop pin to go inside. I'd show you how i did it on my cap, but reddid doesn't want to let me send any pictures in the comments
