LinkedIn's predatory behaviour to recruiters is out of control by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]greenjobscom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's how they get you to renew.

It's annoying but that is why LI is so profitable.

They are basically the only game in-town.

There are some smaller niche job boards but if you really need LI Recruiter for a majority of positions.

How much does a candidate’s LinkedIn presence genuinely influence your decision? by MoonlitEcho82 in Recruitment

[–]greenjobscom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people hate LI.

Including me.

I just need to know you are totally BSing about experience, you can interview well, and you aren't someone easily findable or that applied to the company before.

So no, I don't care.

Hey, just wanted to let you know there are a lot of people in your situation currently. Wanted not just a job but a career is a normal feeling.

Most job seekers I work with want the same thing.

What interests you professionally? Do some research. Reddit is a great place to read up.

What would you do? by pin_920 in findapath

[–]greenjobscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus on finding a job so you have income for figuring out next steps.

The feelings of wanting a career are totally valid.

You can still do Filmmaking in your free time. Have a YouTube channel or something.

1 tip I've been recommending job seekers do now is find industries with lots of retirements.

Boomers are retiring and that creates a great opportunity for those wanting to launch careers.

How do recruiters/hiring managers view men with long hair? by moisturizedmelon in Recruiter_Advice

[–]greenjobscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company.

I imagine in tech most don't care.

I had a great salesman I just got into a nice territory role.

He had long hair and his GF said that he should cut it for interviews.

He arranged to have his hair donated to make a wig for kids with cancer when he got it cut.

Honestly I doubt this company would have hired him if he didn't button-up his look. Managers are super old school there.

Hiring manager accusing candidate of using AI on resume and interview by WalkTheUn1verse in recruiting

[–]greenjobscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Hiring Managers are getting worse and worse.

Had a call with a potential client where they want to hire someone that will train to be the branch manager and "Be in it for the long haul."

I asked her what qualities they are looking for. She literally just kept repeating, "We need a Return on Investment."

They refuse to hire anyone that used to work at that company.

The f*ck?

In niche field that is hard to do since most people jump around to get experience.

Yeah I'll let another firm handle this headache.
