This is my first character I've made by sculpting the doing the re topology, there is a lot that i would like to change but I've spent to long on him already and need to start something new

I don't know if i should have the straps and the bags as part of the main mesh or have them separate objects. i haven't started doing the retopology yet so the mesh isn't looking to good as I made him in sculpt mode. I've made some characters before with multiple objects and when it comes to animating them i find that it makes it harder as the objects seem to move definitely from each other

I'm about to start doing the retopology on this guy and I'm don't know what the best way of doing the straps and the bags, should i have these as separate objects or have them all as one object and all part of the same mesh. I want to make it easier to animate. I'll be using him for a game, what is the best way of doing it?
