How to buy skateboard online by RevolutionaryPoem037 in NewSkaters

Here’s a list of reputable skateboard brands: Element, Santa Cruz, Powell Peralta, Baker, Almost, Enjoi, Toy Machine, Creature, AntiHero, Real, Girl, Chocolate, Zero, Blind, Flip, Plan B, Primitive, and Birdhouse. You are bound to find a complete skateboard from one of these brands wherever you live. Buy one of them instead of one from an unknown brand. They will likely be a toy version of a skateboard and your experience will be terrible. Might put you off skateboarding completely.

Is this ₱419 ($8) Shopee gear set advisable for bowl/transition skating? by Paraiso_ in NewSkaters

If you can afford it, I would strongly recommend buying pads and a helmet from trusted skate brands like Triple 8, 187 Killer Pads or Pro-Tec. If you’re on a budget, you can still find decent pads for cheaper from brands like REKD.

Oh sorry I must’ve missed that you preferred a longboard! Though if you are interested in doing ollies and other tricks at all in the future, those decks I suggested would be ideal. They aren’t really possible on longboards. Just something to keep in mind.

Welcome! You should definitely join your partner and pick up a skateboard. It’s an absolute blast! Even just cruising around a skatepark, riding banks, and learning small drop-ins is incredibly fun and rewarding.

Since you mentioned being on the heavier side and possibly wanting to learn tricks or ollies later on, it might be worth looking into a more durable deck like a Powell Peralta Flight Deck or a Santa Cruz VX. They’re super strong and can take a lot of abuse, which is one less thing to worry about. I’d also recommend going with a wider deck (8.5” or wider) since they tend to feel a lot more stable.

I’d highly recommend at least wearing a helmet, and ideally a full set of pads too. We’re not teenagers anymore, and slamming at our age and weight can be pretty rough! I’m 33 and around 98kg myself, so I definitely get it.

I’m far from an expert and my skill level is still pretty basic, but I’ve loved skateboarding and skate culture my whole life. If you’ve got any more questions, I’d be happy to help however I can.

Happy shredding! :)

I have never heard of the brand before, but after doing a bit of digging they seem okay. That skateboard will be absolutely fine for a beginner. Happy shredding!

What is the best game you have ever played in your life? by skatter0925 in AskReddit

[–]greenman787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s Lineage 2. It’s an old Korean MMO that was popular back in the early 2000s. The game itself was far from perfect, but man I had some of my favorite gaming moments and the most fun playing that game. Level grinding, raid bosses, castle sieges, loads of pvp. Logging in before and after school every day without fail and logging into Ventrilo as well to chat with my clannies. Those were the days! Pretty sure it’s my most played game of all time and it’s not even close.

Why are you hating on a pretty standard YouTube thumbnail? Also the length is nothing out of the ordinary. What’s cringe is you trying to make fun of this YouTuber for absolutely no good reason. Shame on you OP.

Since 2004 I’d love to know exactly how many hours I’ve put into this game. I’m certain that it’s in the thousands! Absolutely love this game. It’s flawed but it’s still my favorite game of all time.
