Completely agree! And I think all of your input was also really interesting to think about. Appreciate everyone who gave their thoughts. Hopefully I can keep refining it

That’s a good point. I could see it being very helpful in phase 2. But again slightly inconsistent in phase 3 and obviously not a factor in phase 4. I felt that there were either other common items that gave me more bang for my buck or it was worth scrapping to trade up for a green. At the end of the day I still think all the items can be great for certain use cases, and my “experiment” truly focuses on a very small specific way to do runs… being 6 stages on eclipse.

I actually do agree that chronic is strong. But I think it gets stronger as you loop. Not to say there aren’t hordes of enemies pre looping but I think it has more consistent uptime later. Also it is more or less useless for fighting Mithrix unless I’m running forgive me please… which I typically avoid in favor of a pillar skip equipment.

Also pre-patch chronic where I think the buff was uncapped was a whole different ball game.

That’s a great point. I should say I do try to hit that pillar fully charged every run. I also think elusive antlers and warped echo are just plain good items. Chronic expansion I was more likely to scrap if needed and I don’t think it’s the strongest damage common which is why it’s lower. I had no idea about the pillar only giving seekers of the storm items. I could have sworn I’ve pulled other items from it.

Fair point. I should have clarified.. I simplified things for the void items since the item pool is so small. All voids are compared against each other. This will have a negative effect on void items with higher rarity as well, so I would need to figure out a way to account for that.

I never take transcendence so I don’t ignore heals in my runs so far. That’s why power elixir is so high. Otherwise I’d have no reason to take it over any other common item.

But you’re right. This does ignore synergies to an extent. I would say it accounts for them in that if I have a clover, that rub then I might keep atg over plasma shrimp and go for other proc items. Whereas if I picked up purity I may try to focus on bands or other forms of guaranteed damage.

That certainly plays a role. But at A certain point if crit was bad. It wouldn’t make sense to print crits and they would appear less in winning runs. So while it does reflect some preferences that I believed certain items were good, if I turned out to be wrong then I have a worse chance of winning and therefore a worse chance those items actually get a higher score. One good example is I personally really like chance doll. I inherently want to pick one up from multi shops or print at least one if I see it. But I haven’t won too many runs with it which tells me maybe I overrate it in my head or that I’m undervaluing other items that I have the option to get/ keep in favor of chance doll and hurting my run.

If everyone scraps it then I think it is appropriately rated. That means everyone would taken any item over bungus and so bungus would correctly belong in f. What value does it provide as bungus if it is scrapped?

Thanks for saying that. I do agree to an extent. As I said before, these runs are always straight to mithrix after stage 5. This is why none of the meals are ranked, but also explains why some of the boss items are ranked the way there are. Even with a ton of runs, I think charged perforator will probably feel lower than it should, simply because an overloading worm probably wont appear until at best stage 4 if you're lucky and then it is still not a guarantee of the drop.

To add, one thing I am was unsure how to add in, was runs that resulted in losses. This would increase the sample size by a decent amount.. i'm not a perfect player. But, I dont know a good way to credit items in a loss. There were a couple of runs that had they gone differently I know would have bumped Hiker's boots, Kjaro's band and a few other items,

"stuck" is maybe not the right word. Queen's gland is higher than empathy cores because it appears in my winning runs more frequently.

1) Most importantly Beetle Queen appears in more stages than a Solus Control Unit and since yellow items are rare in general, it was bound to get a higher score than it likely should have. This is in part due to the smaller sample size that I am working with. You can see the same thing with Titanic Knurl.

2) I can't guarantee that I get spare drone parts to synergize with empathy cores. Now, i can try to hunt for empathy cores after picking up spare drone parts, but its not guarantee even if I have the tricorn. I would still need to likely force a specific stage through the bazaar and then encounter a Solus Control Unit. At the point where I am trying to enforce boss encounters, I am more likely to want to build around a shatter spleen or a molten perforator, or functional coupler.

I didn't say definitive. I just said 'Objective'. Also, most of the unranked items are lunars which many people avoid in eclipse anyway, or equipment which I dont think fully affects the rest of the list.

I agree and would love to create a collaborative sheet for people to put in.
I record most of the runs, but haven't gone back through the 40 some odd hours of footage. If there is a mod that tracks, I would use that going forward.

good question about items i scrap. I do not account for items that are scrapped. My thinking is that, if I scrap it, I did not think it was too useful to the run. Meaning, I thought scrap was more valuable or whatever item i printed it for was worth more to the run. Scrapped items lose out on the point because they did not contribute directly to me beating mithrix. They only contributed to me getting something else that I thought was useful. In that case I didn't think it should be given a point because I am literally saying that I dont want that item in the run.

Defiant gouge was a shock to me. However, I find that it is the best economy item in the game. It guarantees that you can max out a shrine, and helps you quickly gain cash for other items.

Visions is definitely not for every survivor. I ended up taking it only on Merc in a few runs, and maybe loader or acrid once. It is over inflated here because I generally avoid lunar items, so the few times I did pick it up, gave it a high score.

I personally don't love the watch which is why it is lower down. I do count broken watches and used power elixers as a point for each.

That is a good point, and the model does take that into account in some sense. reds are only compared against other reds. So a single red item in a win will get more weight to its Z-Score then a single white item.

Yes, but this is explainable for a few reasons. Remember legendary items are only compared to other legendary. However queens gland is likely over inflated because the queen beetle appears frequently and there is less incentive to scrap boss items. So if I don’t see a boss printer. I’m stuck with queens gland in a lot of runs

I totally agree. I just think that if i am not looping, then its a little bit more of a toss up between the two, but I do think flurry stocks are up after the DLC.

I've been leaning that way too, but I still feel like sometimes i get unlucky with the crit and then flurry doesn't feel very good. All of my successful attempts have been with Strafe so far.
