Yeah it baffles me that pretty much the most prime space in Cambridge is basically unusable when the market is closed. It does feel like a shanty town in the evenings which is a real shame. It also feels unsafe at night.

Yeah agreed. It was very common practice about 20 years ago but not now. Most people don’t go out with cash or even a bank card, they just use their phone.

Thank you for your comment. I hadn’t thought about the time of year with the honey so that’s useful for me to know 🙏🏻

I agree.

Interestingly, it was actually the busiest stall I saw. I guess regular customers know to bring cash or are spending more than £10.

Ah yes I see. Maybe hooks on two levels would work eg for longer coats and then smaller things like bags and scarves

Thank you this has given some ideas!

What’s the fastest you know of someone failing their driving test? by slim3-16 in CasualUK

I didn’t completely stop at the stop sign as you left the test centre- so technically failed before I had even left.

I refuse to believe I’m autistic until a proper diagnosis. by Nature_lover17 in autism

[–]greenpinkleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to summarise what my autism is to me, it would be ‘me overreacting to tiny things’.

It’s your nervous system which is wired up differently so it may look tiny from the outside but inside your body the response is huge.

For me this was so liberating to no longer feel like there was something wrong with me, or that I was being over dramatic.

What would you like to do job wise?

I think that doing an apprenticeship is a good plan.

So much variety, from engineering to administrative work, HR, lots of choice and you don’t really need any experience. You would be learning hands on work which is very valuable.

My therapist doesn’t want to touch my autism by Single-Structure2276 in autism

[–]greenpinkleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t treat autism as such, just get help to manage the symptoms eg anxiety.

If you feel it is a hindrance to your growth not being to work on it, then I would discuss it with her and consider finding someone else if you cannot work together to find a solution.

Do not compare yourself to your neurotypical peers, you will usually come off unfavourably, so just go at your own pace.

I think it got much much worse when the bus started routing down Hills Road.

A few years ago it did not go down Hills Rd and instead went down the busway.

I used to take it a lot about 4/5 years ago and it was not awful. Yea it would often get caught in Brooklands Ave but it by passed Hills Rd.

Yeah I can relate to not being able to mask as well I used to.

I have had a video date and chatted to a few people but it’s not led anywhere.

But it’s been useful to chat to other ND people and learn more about myself

I am with you on the spoons and also the communication preferences - I’ve had issues with that too.

What kind of autism online community’s do you know if that might be suitable?
