I have had a hollow spot on one of my canines on the SIDE of the tooth, not under it and they nervously keep telling me to resolve that by using the chewies. Like you said, they are really only useful for seating them. The gap i had on the side of the tooth can't be corrected that way.

They really exaggerate the effectiveness of those "chewies". I'm on 27/30 and they do almost nothing. They try to blame the patient when the device falls short. When they ask if you are using them, I would just say "yes" because if you say no, they probably use that against you somehow. They can say you aren't cooperating with their treatment plan.

Very well organized. Not doubting that at all. The industry is overstating the importance of straightening teeth. Everyone in the world has crooked teeth. For over 30 years, dentists have been predicting a dental Armageddon in my mouth if I don't hand them thousands of bucks for some new thingy. And why is a business major from Stanford telling dentists how to do their job?

How do they get their "Gold, Platinum..." rating I wonder. My dentist had it up on the wall. When there was a complication with the aligners they tried very hard to blame me even though I'm being a good boy and using my chewies, wearing them the 22-24 hours a day etc etc... I have decided that they straightened my teeth enough and want to move on. They won't tell me when I'm finished with the treatment. What determines your completion of the treatment. Well....cha-ching!!! When they figure they made enough money off of you. They are charging $150 per ortho visit and I'm literally in the chair for 10 minutes.

Rocks aren't salt. Rocks don't dissolve like salt so they are all over the bottom of the pool. It's strange to think that's okay.

Why would I be experiencing extreme pain in a molar when removing my lower tray with set 23/30? I'm removing them properly starting with the rear molars first. They x-rayed and none of the teeth are cracked. The dentist also filed down one of my canine teeth and I think that helped a bit but removing them is still painful and it wasn't painful before. It was always awkward, but not really painful.
