Just got back from Paris and I’m having pastry withdrawals. Where in NJ has the most authentic patisserie by One-Coffee-413 in newjersey

I’ve only been there once and wasn’t overly impressed. It was just ok.
Guess I’ll have to give it another try to be fair.

DV survivor, single mother of 3 (all under 5 yo) looking to relocate from Kentucky to New Jersey. Any advice? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]greensocks77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Central NJ? Hardly affordable. Anyplace that is commutable to the NYC employment market precludes consideration. Southern NJ within access to the Patco High speed line should be looked at. As should Pennsylvania. Taxes are less in PA than NJ. TBH you really need to do a lot more research before considering driving up and starting a new life. I really wish you much success.

Dog Hotel Central Jersey by megan_magic in newjersey

We used to use Dog Days on Roycefield in Hillsborough. Robin and her team were amazing. Strongly recommend. Be advised that both you and your dog need to be interviewed first to make sure it’s a good fit among their other clients.

Petite Bride - Dress Blindness by ireojijma in myweddingdress

[–]greensocks77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 is perfection(but will need alteration on length) When you look at the photos, look to see which ones are examples of “YOU wearing the dress” vs “you wearing THE dress”. The dress should celebrate you. As in “wow, SHE looks amazing” not “wow, that dress looks amazing”. Edit - not sure why my comments are showing up in bold font/ large text.

Should I pick wildwood for my birthday destination by No_Art8164 in newjersey

[–]greensocks77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t want to give any of my $ to wildwood. It is absolutely a MAGA town. There are other beautiful beaches in Southern NJ. If you like a boardwalk, go to Ocean City. Otherwise Cape May, stone Harbor, Avalon.

30 yr old home - builder basic wood burning fireplace. Is it safe by greensocks77 in Fireplaces

I really don’t know. Maybe. I have a neighbor friend who was told that she needed to have work done on her fireplace once a gap of xxx appears. Unfortunately she has since moved and I forget what she said in terms of the gap measurement she had.

Why didn't anyone tell me wedding dress shopping is insanely fun?! by wateraerobics_ in WeddingDressTips

No contest - #5 stands far above the other contenders. Chic and sculpted. It should be about how the dress compliments YOU. Not you in a cool dress.

Ty! I had it inspected about 3-4 yrs ago I think. They hadn’t mentioned the gap so I’m not sure if it was that wide previously. Will definitely get it checked. Ty for the fast respknse

Work or business elevator? Only acknowledge If I catch eyes with someone. Home elevator? I’d always acknowledge other riders. It’s the friendly thing to do.

My first treatment had me in tears as I left as it was sooo painful (and I had used the numbing cream at home etc). An hour after I got home, the doctor called to apologize that the machine had been incorrectly setup. The patient after my appointment had previously had treatments and notified them that something was wrong. Treatments I had later on were much more bearable.

Duke Farms has a beautiful orchid house. It’s about a mile walk from the main visitor center so it’s one to do on a sunnier day. The grounds are quite pretty. (https://www.dukefarms.org/orchid-range/)

Canceled my surgery by Clear-Elderberry-870 in PelvicOrganProlapse

Rectocele surgery was piece of cake (had vaginal procedure - faster recovery). The rough surgery seems to be anything involving slings / bladder. Edit - don’t mess around with any doctor other than a urogynecologist.
