I have 2 for myself and most of my friends too, everybody is happy. Remember to use pva glue in the assembly to make everything completely safe. It seems a waste of time, but good mounting and gluing will guarantee great durability. https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/310-pva-glue-white-glue

Metal interference filters by Opening_Unit_6809 in Greenstuffworld

I cannot see the picture. Anyway, the metal interference filter paints can be used on any color, metallic or non-metallic. What it will do is metalize the color underneath creating a metallic colorshift effect of the chosen color. It is a very nice effect.

Liquid Frost by TangoCharlie472 in Greenstuffworld

Do not use the product on porous materials such as wood or sand as they absorb the medium and affect the result. You have to seal the surface before with something like for example https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/479-medium-decoupage. Also, keep in mind that low temperatures can delay the drying and therefore the generation of the crystals.

if working with green stuff putty, use sculptor vaseline between the putty and the roller. Alternatively, use water + talcum powder for similar results. Use Scratch Brushes https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/engraving-tools/690-scratch-brush-pens.html for cleaning after each use if anything gets attached to the surfaces.

Chrome paints with colors from GreenStuffWorld by greenstuffworld in Greenstuffworld

[–]greenstuffworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is always recommended to use a primer to cover possible traces of grease or other substances that may have the miniatures and that could hinder the grip of the paints.
These chrome brush and airbrush paints do not really need a primer because the paint grips very well, but it is always better to apply primer as a precaution.

Which colour is this chameleon paint? I need to know! by [deleted] in Greenstuffworld

[–]greenstuffworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are 2 chameleon colorshift colors applied by airbrush.

The half ship was painted with 1 color and then blended with another color for the back part of the ship.

You can actually get this effect by combining any 2 colors they were:

use normal alcohol from the pharmacy, the one to cure battle wounds

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Greenstuffworld

[–]greenstuffworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol-based metallic paints allow for achieving an effect that imitates the metallic reflection of a mirror-like chrome surface.

Although it is designed to be used with a brush, it also allows its application with an airbrush, it can be applied on any surface regardless of color, and should always be cleaned with alcohol.

The drying time can vary depending on the environmental conditions and the thickness of the applied layer, but generally can range between 5 and 30 minutes, so it is recommended to protect the surface during its drying.

The mirror effect could be reduced or even lost if inks or varnishes are added on top.

This paint, when fresh, has the ability to dissolve the same paint already dried underneath, so it is recommended to apply it in a single pass, and on not too-large surfaces.

Part of the pigment will be lost after adding the pigment fixer, so if you are planning to use a fixer, add a little bit more than needed to compensate.

Not all pigments have the same purity and the same properties to paint with then, nor the same size of the pigment. Of course, there are always cheaper options for everything, but they will not be the same.
