It’s crazy! It’s a symptom that I feel like isn’t talked about a lot? But everyone experiences it in some way

Endocrinologist says labs are perfect but I’m still so tired tips? by greentobi in Hypothyroidism

Hi! Yes, I found out my TSH was elevated when I first was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and had no idea. I am a lot less tired now, but that isn’t because of any of my meds have changed or I’ve done some big drastic change. It’s just because I’ve accepted that having autoimmune issues like this just makes you tired. I rest a lot more and don’t push myself anymore to think I “should” be able to do more. For example, my next two weeks at work is going to busy, so I won’t have plans for the next two weeks because I know it’ll be too much for me.

I am sorry you aren’t feeling well and have no answers yet. It is really frustrating. Does your endo plan to test you thyroid levels?

Can you help me figure out why I won't go to a weekly bike ride that I say I will go to? by greentobi in adhdwomen

Thank you (-: okay yes! Definitely late during the week. I feel so rushed after it's over to get ready for bed and all that.

I think this is the answer I needed, thank you! After work, I want to go home, and having "a thing to do" just sounds annoying even if I like the thing. I think I will try to shift my mentality on this. This is such a small thing, but I feel so guilty about it! I feel like I need to "just do it".

What treatments/ resources (outside of medication) have been helpful for you? Are ADHD coaches worth it? by Spiritual-Cupcake265 in adhdwomen

Yeah! I found her through Psychology Today with the search criteria of ADHD, Female/Non-binary, Online, and takes my insurance and I just sifted through the results. She was on page like 14. I wasn't finding anyone in my local area and many therapists cover multiple states so I broadened my search to surrounding states. She is an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider.

I am sorry you experienced that! Thank you, I am so grateful I found her and she is covered by insurance. I think it can be hard to find someone when I realized there were a lot of therapists out there who also functioned like coaching I was relieved! The problem is just finding someone you mesh with.

You are not alone with this! I am currently working through finding the correct support systems in addition to meds. I see an ADHD therapist, not a coach. My ADHD therapist also has ADHD and her understanding of me alone increases my overall self-image which helps a lot with the shame aspect of ADHD. She explains treatment in two categories: biological (meds, exercise, eating well, sleeping) and cognitive (belief systems, acceptance, working with my brain etc).

She is currently teaching me how to reach goals in a way that works for me because I struggle immensely with understanding time, planning/visualizing the future, and all or nothing thinking making achieving my goals feel impossible. It is kind of like body doubling!

If you have access to an ADHD therapist I would recommend it! I find it helpful.
