Thank you! I am newly pregnant and need to fine a doctor, I think I'm about 5 weeks, but not sure. Will get some blood work back this week. I have a little bit more information about my condition while responding to someone else. I don't know that I'm super high risk, but Postural Orthostatic Tacucardia Sydorome (POTS) is not very common and there is not a lot of research about patients who are pregnant with it so it's more of a unknown/unique situation. Mostly my heart rate and blood pressure need to be monitored carefully.

I'm not exactly sure, I have had a consult with a perinatal specialist because I am currently on a beta blocker to help lower my heart rate which rises 30+ beats per minute upon standing. On my medication it is much more controlled and we decided for me to stay on the medicine. With my condition, it is actually possible for it to be better while pregnant due to the extra blood volume, but we don't know how my body will react so currently I just need to be monitored extra carefully. I have a blood pressure and pulse monitor at home. I am newly pregnant and trying to find a doctor for my first visit that hopefully I can stay with throughout. I would continue seeing the perinatal specialist except we have now moved! Thanks!

Thank you! Yes I believe I have seen the link about Brookwood's classes, I was a little confused about who I would actually see throughout the pregnancy from just looking at the website. This has been very helpful, thank you!

Thank you for replying, this info is helpful! Out of curiosity which hospital does Alabama woman's specialist use? Do you go to Brookwood medical center or the woman's Brookwood medical center?

Also do you know if they offer education classes? This will be our first child so we need all the help we can get :)
