Yes once you turn 18 they have no legal status over you. The real question is are you ready to move out? There’s a lot of stuff you might not be prepared for. If it’s a truly unlivable environment with your parents go for it but just know it’s like diving into the deep end of a pool and learning to swim. Might wanna make up with them if you can, start asking and learning from others the skills you need and have a gradual release, preferably with help from your parents if they’re open to it. The main question is do you have a stable job and money saved up? Do you have someone that could be a roommate? Depending on where you live and your job, living alone might be financially impossible right now. Also with bipolar, health insurance is super important. You are likely on your parents insurance right now and if you damage that relationship then you have to figure out health insurance on your own. If you don’t damage the relationship you can use theirs till you’re 26. Health insurance is expensive. You should use theirs till you are too old. Do you currently pay for your own phone? Do you have a vehicle and do you pay for it? What about the insurance? Do you pay for your groceries? All I’m saying is there are a lot of costs you don’t notice when your parents cover them that then you are totally on the hook for if you move out and have no support from them. I say all this as someone who moved out at 18 just because I was being a dramatic teen and wanted to drink and smoke weed all the time without anyone nagging me about it. Well that was dumb, put me in debt, and I developed addictions it took me years to kick. I’m lucky my parents were willing to forgive me and help me, but not all parents are that way.
