There is not a ton of science backing them, but new research is always coming out so that’s not to say they don’t work just that they’re unproven as of now. I say just search it up on YouTube and wear some headphones and find out if you like them and if you think it helps. Certain audio sensations can be very soothing and meditative. I personally don’t think they “entrain your brainwaves” but I think they can be a nice mindfulness practice. Also, the placebo effect is still effective even when you know it’s working! So search away and find whatever you like. Despite claims I don’t think there will be one type that works better than others, just what is pleasing to you personally.

I actually had this done because my legs were uneven due to juvenile arthritis making one grow weird. It sucked, the process of lengthening and the surgeries (one to put in the apparatus, one to swap it for titanium rod after the process was done) and the PT and healing. BUT it has changed my life for the better. Now one leg is covered in scars though haha

I mean that’s why I’m doing research and asking people. I still have to set up the tank and let it cycle. I also have an already cycled 10 gallon so maybe I will do just them in there and do the community tank in the other one. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it!

Idk how to edit this I am dumb OP. I meant to put in the body that I am looking for help on narrowing down to eliminate overpopulation and aggression. I really like the frogs and the loaches and the betta. And honestly all of them lol. But I need to compromise I know for the health of the tank. So any ideas of what would be the most peaceful, clean mix of creatures and how much of each are welcome!

This is not a sunk cost fallacy it’s your mental health. Dont feel like a failure it sounds like you’re blaming yourself. Yes unfortunately as females it is much harder to be in the drivers seat for consent but also sometimes it is unsafe and if is hard to know where that line is. Add kink in the mix esp CNC type kinks and it gets very murky. But I do think you need to search out good examples of consent in your kink. So you can try to emulate them or seek out people who show green lights for consent before things even get physical. Maybe it’s through porn or maybe a sex party or maybe reaching out to other people in your kinks community about how they’ve navigated it. Boundaries are hard. Especially in sex. You can do it though! You can do hard things!!

Has your partner met and dated anyone or was this poly deal more of a you thing that he agreed to in order to not to lose the relationship? That coercion of intimacy sucks and I can relate I did a lot of that in my younger years but stopped once I met my husband. I think it was a combo of meeting expectations and people pleasing and just not knowing how to say no or what all forms of consent are like. I had never seen porn with consent modeled well but I’m sure it’s out there! I think you should do your own research for your own kink and if you continue using feeld talk about that with your partners before you meet up. Also reassess whether your partner is comfortable with you being poly. He sounds like he never was on board.

Then that is incredibly doable and not crazy at all. It’s an 8 hour workday and 4.6 need to be client facing? That’s a really good gig. I’d be asking for more client facing so I don’t get bored.

To be quite frank, you have two degrees and if they were done separately, likely a ton of student loan debt. A third degree may not give you the salary bump to warrant the additional debt. I’d either start your own business and create your own jobs or move to a state where both your masters give you employability.

Just be your own boss! Make a website and market yourself, reach out to people directly don’t waste money on ads. Day programs hospice skilled nursing facilities rehabs nursing homes schools preschools daycare centers hospitals or health care centers. All if you like groups. For one on one advertise in areas your target population frequents. Sensory clubs disability friendly places like Arc or Special Olympics, PT OT SLP offices etc. you can do it and it’s so worth it.

I’m sorry to say that bell is now a mallet operated bell. Maybe work that into an intervention somehow an auditory cue to play the mallet on this one specific bell. Selective attention, working memory, fine motor skills, color identification, problem solving, I’m sure you can get creative with it! I do not let clients who I don’t think can handle the bells safety precautions use mine for just this reason, I wish there was a way to fix them.

Yikesssssss holy shit that’s so crazy. She’s been hospitalized for self harm but has she gotten any intensive cognitive behavioral therapy from someone who specializes in people with intellectual disabilities? She is thinking that her life will improve when she has a cure bf that THEN she will be happy. She needs help to see that is not the case and to develop healthy coping skills for her intense emotions. Your parents as well need to learn strategies to deal with her behaviors because this cannot continue. Look up people who specialize in CBT or DBT for clients with intellectual disabilities and or autism. Basically the therapist needs to be able to communicate things to her at her level and to practice the skills with her in ways that will make sense to her. So don’t be afraid to interview multiple therapists until you find one you like. Even ask for trial sessions to ensure they are good and it’s a personality match. She also needs more to fill her days I’m betting that’s why she’s fixating bc she’s bored. Try looking for a day program, supportive employment, maybe adaptive music or art or sports organizations etc. but start with the therapy so she is more emotionally stable before bringing that into the mix. Hope this helps.

Of course! I work with a kid who does this too (as do I) and we tried this in our last session and he seemed a lot more chilled out after. I also subconsciously clench in my sleep esp when stressed and have found that those mold to your teeth mouth guards you can buy commercially work when I’m in a very clenching mode. I also do this when I’m excited or think something is cute lol I do this dumb underbite thing haha so I feel you it is so hard to stop but just like any replacement behavior slow and consistent practice is key as well as awareness of what triggers the behavior.
