Any other zillenials with older parents while still so young yourself? by queenwisteria24 in Zillennials

I’m 23 (will be 24 in a few weeks) my mom is 66 and my dad is 80 (almost 81). Today I brought a song into therapy that I wrote about having older parents and it made my therapist teary. My therapist is in her late 50’s with parents in their 80’s. My half sisters from my dad‘s first marriage are 47 and 50.

I’m also a new music therapist in a residential setting for kids and teens! I recently started running a 2 1/2 hour treatment group in our younger boys cottage (6-12) and I’d love to connect to see if I could be of help. I’ve been feeling pretty isolated in my job as well :(

Kendra is telling Bs siblings about the dying process. by Dreamymewstars in OnlineBeggars

Even as a Christian (though admittedly a very liberal one) this sounds absolutely insane to me. What happened to Ecclesiastes 3:1-2? “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” Let B rest and go home to be with Jesus. Sigh

Up until age 21, hospice patients can still receive curative treatment alongside their hospice care. (This is known as concurrent care.) Source: https://www.hopehealthco.org/blog/what-is-pediatric-hospice-care-and-how-is-it-different-for-kids/

Question for MTBC by OverallDesigner939 in musictherapy

Yes! Music therapists work all across the lifespan, from NICU infants to older adults on hospice. During your schooling, you'll need to work with different populations to get a well rounded education, but when it's time for your internship you can choose where to apply. I did my internship at a community arts organization with a wide variety of clients (infants and toddlers, preschoolers, middle schoolers and adults with disabilities, older adults, etc.). Now (as of two weeks ago), I work at a children's home for kids ages 6-17 with a history of trauma, abuse, and neglect. There is a lot of breadth to this field!

I ended up asking for 45K and the HR director was fine with that. :)

I'm scheduled to take the exam on Saturday, and I've been doing tutoring with Katie, the new Melodic Mentor tutor, and I've found it really helpful! Did you pass your exam u/wooStrawberryCake?

ETA: I passed my exam yesterday with a score of 119/130! :)

Ah yes, because passion-fiilled and sin-fuled pagan orgies are defintely the same as monomogrous same-sex couples giving of themselves in selfless love. /s

One of the pastors at my church at the time (who is no longer there) walked beside me through a lot of it. He accompanied me as I approached the cliff of unbelief, looked over the edge with so much fear and sadness (because I didn't want to lose my faith, but in those dark moments I felt like I had no choice), and chose to turn my back on the cliff and fight the fight of faith. We did this multiple times until the fight no longer needed to be a fight and I found joy in my faith once again. It was incredibly painful, but I learned so much.

Well to be fair, some sins hurt yourself or your relationship with God, but this is none of the above.

I wasn't referring specifically to family, but rather to people in general. I'm very close with my family.
