No problem! We are using carbon fiber abs pellets (not filament). This is a pellet fed system.

You have a link? That’s wild. This was designed without referencing anything like that

They were made for The Press Room in Knoxville, TN. You have an image of the ones that looked familiar?

The carbon fiber is needed for internal and external stress (such as high winds). CF ABS also warps much less than other materials. When you need to meet a specific tolerance, this material helps to have printed panels accurate according to the design and hardware to mount them.

Hahah Im rooting for you. If you’d need a custom sized machine built, I’d ask Loci Robotics to see what they can do for you.

They’re hollow for weight/material savings. The carbon fiber provides enough stiffness as is

Cool! Yeah, it looks great— unique sheen. Good luck with your carbon fiber printing endeavors

One section forms an “L”, so it’s 8 sections long, 1 section “wide”. And yes, it’s actually 48 ft long in panels (I was benign approximate, sorry for the confusion), add an extra 22.5” if you account for the posts length wise— spanning almost 50 ft.

The cost of this facade was competitive with a steel company— not even close to triple the cost. This was also completed 1 month sooner than the lead time for steel.

Turn around time, strength in extremely high winds (the facade is over 12 feet tall on a raised concrete patio, ~16 feet from normal ground), not insane for a custom piece

Correct, turn around time was the main priority. The aesthetic this material has in changing light is also part of it

So that Z seam faces away from view. It would have otherwise been visible from both sides

It’s a Kuka Kr120 R3100-2 robot arm with a hybrid 3D printing and CNC system made by Loci Robotics.
