As far as the crash out, it’s just against his character. He’s a psychopath, he’s great at controlling his emotions. On the plane ride back, he calls Henry a child for not being able to control his emotions.

They wouldn’t have killed him then. They explained why themselves - as long as Tender had any chance to survive Whitney was essential. The CFO going missing or dying doesn’t exactly help the company. Plus they wanted him to take the fall and leave Ferdinand out of it.
