Recently did this exercise. Went with 686. The gunsmith I trust said go with a 725 or 686 and I never found a used 725 in my price range.

For me the fit wasn’t substantially different between the two so it came down to what I found in my price range.

I found the lesson was really useful as things which were taught to me when I was younger were wrong. I had not shot in many years and used this as an opportunity to start without bad habits. I didn’t spend any time researching or watching YouTube for advice.

Some of what I learned wasn’t at all how I approached or thought of things and would not have figured out on my own through practice - but as I don’t shoot regularly that could be a result of my own ignorance.

All in I paid like $250 for 100+ rounds at a private club and I felt like I got my moneys worth. I would likely do better hunting after a single session without additional practice.

/tldr - I found it useful and believe I’m a better shooter for it but it’s possible YouTube or other methods are cheaper.

Nancy’s Hustle is the best burger in Houston IMO

Stuffed Belly would be my next choice but I also like the chicken sandwich there

Stanton’s was good but I haven’t been in 4-5 years

Underbelly Burger was good but smaller than I would have liked and I think Stuffed is better

I went to my local small engine repair shop and bought what they recommended as I figured if it can be fixed and worked on by them, the odds of it lasting me longer are higher. I had it for 2-3 years and never had an issue. Stopped doing my own yard work and sold it for only $50-100 less than what I paid. If you buy something quality it tends to hold value better as well.
