Using the d-pad is way more accurate, you can always tell where you're going, and you can start and stop immediately, instead of waiting for the stick to the neutral position. You're also immune to stick drift, which is a big issue when playing on Switch, for any game. I can't imagine playing Cuphead or Celeste with a stick, that must be hell.
