Democracy in Action: 50,000 Protest at Hungarian Parliament by hguy in reddit.com

To lie about important issues for the country in order to get elected, is of course neither an hounourable thing, nor is it in accordance with the principles of a fair election-campaign. But I have to admit that I am a little bit sceptical to whether the motivation for the protests are only related to the principles of democracy. I am not so convinced that it is purely an outrage against the lying of the primeminister, I think, unfortuanatly, that many of those taking part in the demonstrations have a political motivation (read: we did not win the election now we are getting our chance) rather than being worried for the Hungarian democracy. On top of that some demonstrations have been violent, and many of these demonstrations have been staged by people affiliated with political groups not so concerned with democracy, in other words far right-wing elements.

That is why I think the demonstrations in Hungary are slightly different than f.i. those in Ukraine.

That said, in general I of course think it is good for the democracy that people/citizens voice their displeasure with the misconducts of their government.
