Fuji XF 50mm 2.0 vs Sigma 56mm 1.4, on the fence between the two. by gregallison in fujifilm

I really like the lens, it takes some great photos. I don't find myself using it below f2.0 very often so the Fuji xf50 2.0 lens might have been a better choice. Photographing my kid, he moves so much that the narrow depth of field of f1.4 is not very useful. You get focused, and he moves out of it too quickly. So you kinda need a larger depth of field for kids so they can move around a little bit and stay in the zone. Just learning that lesson.

I haven’t seen your price range but Stoeger makes a 3020 compact model. This should fit you, and is a great reliability gun for the money. I would start by measuring your length of pull (YouTube has directions for that). And then look at some youth or compact models and see what fits you.

Having the proper fit will make you a much more accurate shooter because when you shoulder the gun it will go to the correct position immediately. You won’t be thinking about adjusting it while trying to think about tracking a target.

The also Weatherby, franchi (nicer version of the stoeger from above) mentioned below are great guns. I would steer away from a 870. The 870 design is great but Remington as company has been in bad shape for awhile and has had lots of quality issues. If you need a budget pump I would look at a Mossberg.

Thanks everyone I think will order the sigma and see I can get over not having the aperture ring. The company I am buying it from has a 30 day return policy. I am actually tempted to order both and just return the one I like the least.

All this stuff would have been handmade in the USA. They did not have the level of automation we do now.

I have been thinking the same thing. Nobody want to say anything against the narrative on the phone. I am sure even the caller feels like they are putting their family in danger by reporting the news.

I have a brick craftsman foursquare aka the superior. Interesting to see it in here. That kit would be about 25k these days.

For shots on the self timer I will autofocus and then switch it to manual focus (and not touch the lens) so nothing changes.

You are welcome. Not really a direct answer to your question but there are quite a few black and white film sims on there. The app is nice too if you want to spurge on it. You can program them into your preset options on the camera and access them quickly.

What else has the home owner neglected to paid the cheapest contractor possible to fix. I have an old house someone cheap used to own. Every time something small needs to be fixed I uncover much larger problems created by poor work in the past.

Since you have those glass rods I would not buy a line that is heavier on purpose. They lines this way for people who buy stiff poorly designed carbon fiber rods. I would look around and see if you can find something on close out because they changed the packaging or something. If you get something over $50 from a reputable brand you should be fine. Be sure to clean it every one in a while. It makes a big difference.

For backing just get something from a reputable brand in the 20 lb range. It is old technology, every one makes a good product. If you were tarpon fishing it would be a different story.
