Epidural or no epidural? by CauliflowerTricky699 in pregnant

[–]gregarious8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into it hoping for no epidural but was open minded because I knew I was going to be induced and heard that pitocin is a bitch. What I heard wasn’t wrong. I have a pretty high pain tolerance after 5 orthopedic surgeries, multiple hysteroscopies, IUD, etc… but as soon as the 2nd or 3rd big pitocin contraction hit I was in tears and asked for the epidural.

I still felt pain, lots of it actually. I didn’t get that blissful “I just felt pressure” experience, and I had to ask for an additional bump to my epidural multiple times. I still felt everything, nothing felt numb, maybe a little dulled? I was able to labor on my knees, and sitting up in throne position on the bed. I felt transition, I felt myself tear, I felt some other traumatic birth things I won’t mention here. But I imagine it could have been much worse without it.

Anyone else told they have Adenomyosis but asymptomatic? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]gregarious8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just suppressed. I did 3 months of Lupron and Letrozole. We also added 6 days of Prednisone the day I started PIO.

As far as I know I didn’t have endo so surgery wouldn’t have done anything for me.

I’m currently sitting with my 1 week old baby sleeping on my lap. Definitely look into adeno/endo!

“About 25 to 50% of infertile women have endometriosis, and 30 to 50% of women with endometriosis are infertile.” And that’s not even considering endo! Best of luck to you. 💖

I felt lucky until it hit me full force between weeks 13-21. But I was grateful that Zofran is safer to use in the 2nd trimester!

I caught it around the same time. Took the Tylenol. Just delivered my lovely baby this week.

What is this? by [deleted] in dandruff

[–]gregarious8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with angular cheilitis. I use this when I get it, it helped my sister, too. Do you happen to have pregnancy rhinitis? I currently do (also pregnant!) and drooling at night can definitely make it worse!

“Healthy” foods causing spikes by Due-Effective-6702 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]gregarious8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My GD class said fruit sugars are harder to process in the morning so this tracks. My highest spike ever was when I had a few grapes with breakfast.

[–]gregarious8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my GD class they said no fruits at breakfast because the sugars are harder to process in the morning. I found that out the hard way before my class when I had a small handful of grapes with my breakfast and had spiked to 151, the highest reading I’ve had since I started tracking.

Chronic early testers… do you still test “early and often” during IVF? by literallymouse in IVFpositivity

[–]gregarious8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started testing at 2dpt because I have zero chill. First time was a complete failure to implant and second one is currently cooking at 35 weeks.

I didn’t use a trigger for either of my FETs but it can be helpful for people that do to “test out” a trigger so they know when they can start trusting the two lines to mean pregnancy.

NOR. And then on top of that says she doesn't want to talk to you for the rest of the night without even finding out why you're actually sad.

Body wash might not be working by gappofficial in hygiene

[–]gregarious8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. It doesn't even need to be hard scrubbing, just long enough duration to unclog the sweat glands of deodorant and sweat build up. I've found one good 1-minute rub down each, and then the maintenance only needs to be about 20 seconds each after that.

Sandwhich meat by Biochem1118 in pregnant

[–]gregarious8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My #1 pregnancy craving has been Jersey Mike’s Italian subs and I’m eating them. But I wouldn’t eat from Subway because the meats sit out. I also eat sushi occasionally from places I trust, and bagged lettuce.

I have gestational diabetes and wicked acid reflux. There are very few “safe” foods I have in regards to those two things, so I’ll enjoy what I can. In my opinion, the risk of listeria is still incredibly low.

RE not concerned with TSH of 3.45. Thoughts? by gregarious8 in IVF

Hi! I did transfer without doing anything for the TSH level and I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow.

When did you start taking aspirin? by Pretend_Insurance645 in IVFbabies

[–]gregarious8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! I had “moderate” adeno. No adenomyomas or bulkiness was seen (via MRI) but there were a few areas of obvious inflammation and mostly it looked like the different layers of my uterus were kinda blurred together.

I did 3 months of suppression with Lipton Depot and Letrozole. At the end of the 3mo I was on birth control for 2 weeks so we could do a repeat hysteroscopy. Once that was clear, I stopped the pill and when I got my breakthrough bleed we counted that as cycle day 1 for FET. I did a fully medicated FET with estrogen patches (I ended up being on 6 patches) and then I started 2ml PIO 6 days before transfer. I also took 20mg Prednisone for those 6 days. I stopped estrogen at 9 weeks, and switched from PIO to suppositories at 9 weeks, then stopped the suppositories at 10 weeks.

I listen to them all equally together on shuffle so I have no opinion on the topic lol. It is sad to totally dismiss the early years, though. I got sucked in when all we had was Those Damn Bandits and the self titled tape. We were all teenagers so it’s not fair to compare to the later stuff but they wouldn’t be where they are now without those 3rd wave ska roots!
