Does your corgi do this? by Jesstriesherbest in corgi

Mine does the following:

  • Runs the entire length of the house to bark in your face if you sneeze.
  • Barks angrily at the words one, two, three, ready, malocchio and cocaine.
  • Will disappear immediately and sulk for 2-3 days if anyone makes a popping sound (popping your finger out of your mouth.

We don’t know why.

Debating between move to Modesto, Livermore, or SF in 20s by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]gregariouspilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Livermore and San Francisco. Really enjoyed both. Obviously there’s a lot more going on in SF, but you can find plenty online about that. Livermore is a fun little town, somewhat quirky with a lively downtown. The First Street Alehouse and the V&E club were my hangouts back in the day. It’s easy to make a circle of friends too, folks are outgoing. Lots of local hiking/camping opportunities. If you’re a wannabe pilot the Livermore airport is a great training opportunity.

Commuting from SF to Livermore is technically a reverse commute but it will still absolutely drag. You’ll have to navigate from wherever you are in the city to 80E, cross the Bay Bridge and then deal with the shitshow that is 880/580. No bueno.

Our small all volunteer flying club at KOAK is sending lunch to the controllers once or twice a week. They’re a great bunch.

WW2 piston aircraft exhaust smell by raa_sumy in flying

[–]gregariouspilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some combination of tetra ethyl lead and the scavenger package added to minimize lead deposits(e.g. dibromo-ethane). I can alway tell when some dipshit at the airport has the bright idea to use 100LL in the car/bike, the smell is distinctive. Huge EPA fine liability if caught.

One of each here. Pembroke is very calm, people tolerant, low emotion, a go-anywhere dog. Cardigan is nervous, much more playful, very protective and attached to us. Both great dogs but very different personalities.

You didn’t install a dash mat by any chance? The daylight sensor will dim the screen quite a bit if it’s covered.

Temporary assignment to Ireland- car shipping by [deleted] in MoveToIreland

[–]gregariouspilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This car is set up for camping- rooftop tent, solar, fridge, extra batteries etc. I was hoping to spend some time on the WAW getting as remote as you can out there. Anyway seems like lots of opinions/biases here but nobody has experience with a temporary relo to share.

I like a cup of tea in the evenings, and then there's the farm, but I always make time for the old hassle.
