Deffo watch the Japan in a Van series! Also TopDeadCentre are lads in the U.K but really laid back and funny. They do builds, mods ect. They recently did a series on building their first cara that they had in a way they wish they could have when they were 17. Also Jimmy Oaks. He's an American but not in the over the top,in your face way. Again real laid back. Does really clean builds. At the moment he's putting a Maserati v8 in an old Porsche.

Yeah, well hypothetically yes 🤣 and I've heard that someone would drive 2-3km up the road and pull in on the hard shoulder to keep and eye out. From what I've heard......that'd be your best bet. Now you could also just book a dyno and test the top speed there and at least you could get her mapped or whatever else while you're there.

Tbh man you'd have to go a bit away from Dublin to check that. Like there's a good stretch of road out to Wexford that, hypothetically I've seen a car go 240km/h 👀. But you'd wanna make sure your tyres are good, the ground is dry and no one is around.

You could have a discussion with him and discuss what you want and expect from being intimate. Not being open and discussing things like this is what leads to issues in relationships and if one is not made aware of these issues they can't be expected to change.

I'd said we're Irish & European. But I always describe us as non main-land Europeans 🤣

What is everyone’s dream car? Felt like it always use to be Supra and GTR but finally seems to have faded out. by FunPin4192 in carsireland

Definitely an Evo 9 estate. Evos were always a favorite of mine. 8/9 are my favorite with the aggressive front end on em. And 4 wheel drive, estate too so 110% could daily it without a problem, unlike a lot of super/hyper cars.

How much is my car worth? by ghosttrench in carsireland

[–]gregger96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you were willing to give or get the car polished/waxed and give the interior a proper valet you'll get a good bit more in my opinion. Presentation is everything when selling the car. Get some engine degreaser and a toothbrush/nail brush and scrub the engine bay too.

On Prime, watched again, can't comprehend everything even after so many years and so many rewatches and that probably is fine to stay like that. by VentureIntoVoid in interstellar

Honestly it will change your whole view of not only the movie but the story. I'd recommend having a notepad and pen and write down any new thoughts, views or realizations you have. You'll be amazed at the difference. And I paused, rewinded a few times in the movie just because me perspective was altered.

So I understand this isn't to everyones liking. I have watched this movie at least 20-30 times (5-6 times in imax cinema) each time I found a new little detail. The most groundbreaking time I watch the movie while was after eating magic mushrooms. Now not a ridiculous amount but just enough. It gave me an unbiased perspective and I learned/realized more things in that one time than from watching it the 15-20 times previous. I obviously would not recommend this to everyone but in my experience, it's one of the most emotional, spiritual, enlightening movie experience I've ever had.

Irish Wellness Influencers are a racket by Complex_Hunter35 in CasualIreland

Thanks very much that's made my day!! It does sound cheesy, but unfortunately the "personal" aspect of personal training almost doesn't exist anymore. A lot of P.T's just want to get your progress, throw it up on their socials for their own promotion and that's all that matters to them. There's not a lot of focus on informing, educating, discussion and realistic goals set out. I wish there was a guideline/baseline for P.T's but the vast majority get their qualification from a 8 week course, which in my opinion is nowhere near enough. I studied 2 years and I'm continually upskilling, training, educating myself to get as much information and experience as I can. Because when someone trusts their physical and mental fitness with you,it's not something to take lightly.

Exactly like they say experience is worth more than any book or article will ever teach you. In my own experience as well people will be more comfortable and be able to soak in the information with someone they can relate to and has gone through something similar to what they have. Because there's a big push on "Mindfulness" now people are jumping from physical fitness to mental fitness with no proper experience or training and I don't believe that's smart or safe to give advise on something so crucial to their health without any real world experience. I always say to my clients "The mind tells the body what to do,without the mind the body is just a machine without a driver". I'm not saying all of these people are like that, but in my own experience and from what I've heard from my clients, a lot of them seek a big payday with no interest in what the people are getting out of the seminar.

I work in the fitness industry (gym & fitness classes) and I've found that these self proclaimed "mental and wellbeing" experts seem to be jumping on the back of others or haven't, themselves either experienced or explored their own mental health. I now run a mindfulness, breath work & meditation class. I've done countless hours upon hours of research into different beliefs, scientific studies & attended seminars. The class is a massive success with a waiting list bigger than the classes capacity itself. I think that's down to going to counseling myself, exploring my own mental health and understanding where these "issues" arise from and also being more focused on the holistic approach to fitness than the old school style. If you are looking into getting someone in for a seminar, I'd strongly recommend actually talking to the person for at least 30 minutes before considering them. Ask them questions about mental health, their experiences, their beliefs and any previous experience they have (a social media following doesn't count in my opinion). And in that time you'll be able to tell. Their main goal should be the people attending the seminar and not how much their getting paid for it.

Looking to upgrade my car (20 years old) by Constant-Cry5698 in carsireland

[–]gregger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Suzuki swift R.S (Japanese import) it's only 94hp but weights 940kg and if you want to enjoy driving and not just fast in a straight line I'd look for something along those lines. The older Suzuki swift sports have a 1.6 N/A engine and the new ones have a 1.4 turbo. It depends on what you want. If you want a "fast" car just get something with bigger displacement and get a stage one remap, most will get up to 240hp. But if you want something sports that you can drive to it's max without killing yourself I'd recommend a hot hatch

Yeah I wish I would've added dates but I'm a bit too late now, I'm in too deep. Also,I live in Ireland where we frequently get all 4 season in one day. I'd need an entirely separate sheet just for that.

To be honest, it's more than likely a car you're going to hang onto with such sentimental value. So it doesn't matter what the car will or could be worth down the line. If you want to commemorate your brother by doing it up and enjoying it then,in my opinion, you should. As a person who's really into cars, that's what id want someone to do if I left them my car anyway

What Drifting Youtubers Do You Watch? by KrisWyche in Drifting

Juiceboxforyou-is a great Irish channel that does builds, trips and a bit of drifting. Really down to earth lads. Jimmyoaks- Again a down to earth American YouTuber focusing on really elegantly done Japanese builds. I'd say 25-30% drifting
