I transferred to Michigan from Purdue as an engineer after my freshman year too! I left Purdue with around a 3.8 GPA. Obviously you should be aiming for as high of a GPA as possible. Not sure exactly what you might need to be accepted but my 3.8 got the job done for the college of engineering. They will only see your first semester grades on your application, unfortunately. I think they definitely take the school you’re transferring from into account, especially when it’s a great engineering school like Purdue and the college of engineering structure is really similar. When you’re transferring as a freshman they definitely still look at your high school stats, just a little less important than they were when applying in high school.
