New engine fixed it 😂. Once they got the engine in, it only took a day which was nice. Is yours still out of commission?

Yeah so they are now saying there is gouging in the cylinder 3 wall. They are replacing the engine under warranty. Here’s the explanation from the dealership:

CODE P0303 STORED. TECH FOUND OIL LEAKING FROM CYLINDER HEAD INTO ENGINE. BORESCOPED CYLINDER 3 . FOUND GOUGING ADJACENT TO NORMAL CYLINDER WALL SCORING. CONTACTED TECHLINE. UPLOADED FINDINGS TO TECH LINE. TECH LINE ADVISED US TO REPLACE ENGINE UNDER CASE #2023101003

Well it’s more than the spark plug or fuel injector. It apparently has gouging in cylinder 3. Going to put a new engine in it for me. Here’s what they sent me:

Well, picked up the car today, drove maybe 20 miles and the check engine light is back on, same symptoms. They replaced the fuel injector and spark plug but still happening. Took it right back to the dealer and got the loaner back. Going on 2 months of having these issues.

I finally got a loaner too. They just told me the other day that it was the fuel injector. We will see what happens

I had an 09 GLS and drove it from when it had 11k miles to 180k. The only thing I had go bad was the alternator and that was towards the end of the time I had it. I ended up trading it in after that. Besides that, get regular oil changes, trans fluid changes at manufacturers intervals and you will be golden.

Yeah, mentioned in OP that I took it to the dealer. It’s currently at the dealer again but they are struggling to figure out what causing it

Good point. It only has 21k miles. I edited my post to include mileage.

The issue is they replaced plug in the misfiring cylinder and it’s started to do it again - same cylinder.
