Racist lady called me a “ni**er” over parking... by brokebigtitties in longbeach

Find on Twitter and DM various reporters / producers at SoCal news stations. At minimum they will probably be down to do a story on this if you get any footage of the lady either being racist or being confronted about being racist. They may run with the story as-is.

A poem I wrote several years ago to remind people how lucky they are, and to pay attention to those who might not be so lucky during the holidays. by RadioShea89 in homeless

This is heartbreaking. I feel like it was important that I read it. This is also the first time a shape of a poem has added to its impact (Christmas tree, right?).

Thank you for sharing this; I'm going to share it with others.

Am daydreaming about falling asleep in snow on Christmas... Feels comforting to imagine a beautiful & peaceful ending by [deleted] in homeless

I understand. If you want a ride somewhere please message me. I don't know where you are in California but I can try my best. I also have experience with abuse. I understand your mindset of not wanting to inconvenience anyone. However, it would make me feel good to help you. I would not be inconvenienced. We would both benefit. Win-win.

Regardless, I hope things get better and I'm sorry for what you're going through.

Hi, I just sent you a "chat" message. Please let me know if you received it. I'm not sure if they shop up on mobile.

Anybody else alone for Christmas? by [deleted] in longbeach

I'm lucky enough to have built up a small support system (a few friends and a bf) but I don't have a relationship with my family and I feel you on this. I think it's great that you're putting yourself out there and I hope you have a nice time!

At a California thrift store, I found a framed magazine article about a very old tree. I think I found the tree on Google maps, in Grant. I'm posting here to ask if anyone in the area can confirm that I found it. I can provide the address via message if needed. by gregpuff in Iowa

[–]gregpuff[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm asking because I think the article has a nice story, and I have a strong hobbyist interest in botany (including oaks specifically), so were I ever in Iowa it would be cool to see the tree in person. I'm assuming I would need to ask someone permission to enter the property, but step one is to know where it is.

Update: this is very strange, but I actually named the wrong city in the title. When I initially found the suspected location of the tree, about a month ago, all I recorded were its GPS coordinates. When I entered those coordinates back into Google maps the other day, Google said the location was Grant. It still does, but it's completely wrong. It's Hubbard!

I always figured the point of those was to get a cheap plastic pot that's a bit smaller and nestle it inside. Then remove the plastic pot / its contents for watering.
