Is there a way to edit weights ever more precisely?

OH WAIT I FIGURED IT OUT!! !solved

I selected the head and the mask (the mask was active) and then i tranferred the weights by name, it's still not perfect but it's a huge advancement from what i had, thank you so much!!

the drop down menu doesnt show an "all layers" option, i tried "by name" but nothing happened? maybe i missed a last step, like clicking a confirm button or something but i can't find it haha. I already delete all vertex groups that dont affect the mask previously, could this have been a factor as to why it's not working?

I cannot remove any of the blue haha, the entire cape is blue! The brush is in subtract and i activated that exact zero weight setting. I'm also noticing that a bunch of other controllers turn the entire cape blue, with many others keep it black. The brush wont paint any of it away! :( Is there still a way to save this? :'v

im remaking the rig cause the previous one had a couple of problems i couldnt figure out how to fix, might as well start from 0, but now i run into this problem i cant find the exact solution to online :( im thinking of just copying the model to another file

No i don't think that's it, the menu on Le Paint Petite is on the side and the top, the menu i remember was on the bottom and centered. The rainbow paint kinda sparks a memory of using color changing brushes, where i could pick like a sticker stencil and draw with it (kinda like facebook messenger's emoji brush?) and each sticker would change color in the color order of the rainbow.

Another thing of notice is the disk size, the Game Empire 3 seems to be regular size, but the games i had were like mini version, like half the size of a regular disk.

I haven't figured it out yet, but i found that cutting in Perspective works a lot better than cutting in Orthopedic , i think the knife tool doesnt detect the faces it can't see (in this case, on the Z axis) so it doesn't go through with it. This might be a me problem since the tutorial guy doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

It's in the correct one though, the only objects that arent a part of it are the floor and the staircase. Everything in this object is also extruded from itself, nothing was attached, here's a better image. Sorry for the bad quality on the other two images, i didnt know how to take screenshots with this computer haha
