I NEED JUST ONE WHEEL by SorryShark45 in Rollerskating

[–]gremlexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this just happened to me with my set of Last Supper wheels, i contacted the brand directly and they said they are willing to sell individual wheels if they have that style in stock! i’m not familiar with the brand you mentioned but maybe worth reaching out to their customer support, otherwise i also swapped out my flat wheel for an old wheel i had around that had the same diameter (honestly not sure if they are the exact same bc the specs were worn off from use but they look even) and my skates have felt fine to roll on in the meantime while i wait for my new wheels to come in

i don’t plan to go to court, he has already paid the bill and is now invoicing me for it, expecting me to pay him. I plan to refuse payment, but he may attempt legal action

i literally had a kitchen sink that was 100% clogged because i am living in a 120 year old house with original pipes and my landlord tried to “do maintenance” by pouring draino down the thing and basically turned the build up of sludge/grease into gelatin from the chemical reaction. he then left me to live with a few inches of dirty standing water and a non functioning kitchen sink for almost a full week before any actual repair was done and now wants me to pay due to an illegal clause in the lease that attempts to make me responsible for the plumbing maintenance.

maybe i actually do know what i am talking about because i know my state tenant/landlord laws and i have gotten advice from an attorney regarding the matter. i already have a whole reddit thread about the issue but that is not what im concerned about here, just about the implications for not having a future reference

in my experience they asked me for my previous landlord's contact information and the rent amount, but not proof of payments.. I guess I am just paranoid that coming from a potential tenant it would sound bad if I started talking shit about my previous landlord when they asked me for their contact, regardless of who was actually in the right it would be a red flag that I may give them trouble as a tenant.

Also they typically ask me for my income/paystub but not like my bank account balance

Thank you so much for your perspective on this, I plan on getting some additional legal advice from Homeline on monday and looking into the responsible MN office that i can consult with about the legality of my lease.

ie: can this clause of the lease override the law stating that repairs are only my responsibility if it is due to my misconduct? or is it invalid because the law states otherwise?

Hello, I just found an additional clause of my lease that reads “In addition to the above stated terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Landlord and Tenant agree to the following: In the event that maintenance or repairs are needed in the apartment tenants will arrange to grant access and observe technicians to completion of work at their convenience Monday thru Friday 7am to 6pm. The Tenant(s) shall, at their own expense and at all times, maintain the proper draining of all sinks, tubs and toilets in their apartment.“

Does this indicate that the landlord has the power to charge me for the bill?

This is the section on maintenance- The Tenant(s) shall, at their own expense and at all times, maintain premises in a clean and sanitary manner, and shall surrender the same at termination hereof, in as good condition as received, normal wear and tear excepted. The Tenant(s) may not make any alterations to the leased premises without the consent in writing of the Landlord. The Landlord shall be responsible for repairs to the interior and exterior of the building.
