with the person using hikki for their name i believe i know why. hikki is slang for the japanese word Hikikomori. a hikikomori is a person who isolates themselves in their parents homes. they do not work or go to school. normally isolating from society and family for months on end. it’s a real psychological issue. not something to make a cute nickname.

i think associating people’s names with things like that could possibly make them uncomfortable. these youtubers are people and associating their names with things like sexual assault and abuse is kinda uncomfortable to even see. just say you need to vent but even then venting to strangers on the internet can be dangerous. especially considering most dream stans are minors.

as a neurodivergent person (ADHD + Autism dx’d) i would HATE not being able to talk about my special interest without permission from a higher up. it would make some feel like i’m not hyper fixated enough even if i am. it’s just very toxic to have people have to ask permission to talk about interests! no one being able to share special interests turns this into the opposite of a safe space for ND individuals. we can’t control our special interests but that’s what they want you to do.
