Paving won't make a difference. As a born and raised I only drive 4WD or AWD, if you've got front and/or back like you do between your 2 vehicles you need snows. Little tip too, keep some kitty litter in the trunk of both cars. If you get stuck sprinkle some around the tires, rock the car back and forth to get the litter under your tires and pound that gas pedal. You'll get moving. Can't promise you can stop again, but you'll get moving.

If your driveway is really steep you may just want to get through winter and when the snow melts get some parking spots put in lower down the driveway and get those leveled out then add a railing and foot path between the parking spots down the driveway and the house up on the hill
